USMC OFFICIALLY CONTRACTS H&K M27 TO REPLACE THE M4
H&K has officially been contracted by the United States Marine Corps to replace the M4 carbine with the M27 Infantry Automatic Rifle.
The M27 is a variation of the H&K 416 and features a 16″ barrel.
This is important for the velocity needed to make 5.56 lethal at that range.
All of the new M27s will be built in the USA in the Georgia. H&K claims countless other weapons will also be manufactured in the U.S. to meet the growing demand in the US market.
