Your UK top 10, 2021

Oh wow, I seriously need to update my Top 10! The Icon top position is based on some incredible night rides I had very recently tbf.

I also think part of the issue is, I'm just so easily suade! 😅

One excellent ride on a coaster is enough for me to fall in love with it all over again. So my top tens and favourites change all the time. And sometimes I find it hard to distinguish between a favourite coaster and a best coaster, if you know what I mean. Coasters that are either subjectively or objectively good.

Maybe one day I will understand my own wacky coaster taste! 😂
 
Always difficult to figure out a UK top 10. After the top 5 it all becomes just filler but I'll give it a bash...

Apologies for bumping a relatively old thread, but a fair amount has happened in the UK coaster scene since it was last updated. Most notably, Hyperia has burst onto the scene and historic enthusiast favourite Nemesis has been retracked with divisive results. A thread of this nature was bumped on TowersStreet the other day, and it got me thinking about my UK rankings. So with this in mind, I'd be really intrigued to know; what do CF members have as their UK top 10, or wider UK rankings, in 2026?

At present, my UK top 10 is as follows. If we're including defunct coasters, I would say the following (defunct in italics):
  1. Hyperia - Thorpe Park (10/10, #4/147)
  2. Icon - Blackpool Pleasure Beach (10/10, #9/147)
  3. Wicker Man - Alton Towers (10/10, #10/147)

I certainly agree; I definitely think it's a subject worth a revisit in 2026 now that a few years have passed and the coaster market in the UK has grown a bit, and of course tastes evolve.

I've kept Megafobia in there for now as it's still standing as far as I'm aware, although it seems unlikely to have any sort of future. Wild Mouse at Pleasure Beach would take the 9th spot if I was to include demolished coasters.

Nemesis Reborn runs every bit as well as the original in my experience, so it still ranks very highly for me.

If you don't mind me asking, what is it that puts Big One so highly for you? I don't think I've ever seen anyone rank it above Hyperia before!

4 - Grand National (not ridden it in a while)
5 - Dragons Fury

8 - Millennium Coaster
9 - Cobra (or i guess Raven now)
10 - Oblivion

Note - Not ridden Smiler, Wicker Man or Icon

I really like the way it moves and throws you around. You have to brace for every element. It has character. The first drop is one of the best in the world. The hills, yes, *do* have airtime, and I really like the weird jerky arrow lateral slams. It's fun. It's vibey. It feels significant.

I really like Magnum too, for what it's worth. Big One isn't as good, mind, but it feels very similar at least on the parts where Magnum isn't trying to eject you from your seat.
 
Mine feels painfully generic, but then I guess everyone's list is just going to be a permutation of roughly the same 10-15 decent rides we have.

I think because these are the coasters i ride the most, sometimes unique and odd ones seem more fun and mean more to me over time than conventionally "better" coasters in the country.

Interestingly for me even though Paultons is my favourite park nothing from them.

Only notable operating coaster i have not done at this point is Millennium but i cant see that making the list.

This is always difficult, but I've dragged myself to two UK parks so far this year and giving a few things a re-ride...

1) Nemesis
2) Hyperia
3) Swarm
4) Wickerman

7) Millennium
8) Dragon's Fury
9) Icon
10) Jubilee Odyssey

Of course, there are at least four defunct coasters that would have made this list.
