I did the same. I arrived at 1pm and stated until 5:45 and did over 20 rides. 14 you say? Yesterday it was 8. A tactic to reduce the amount of times it cycles?
Yes the airtime in the back is insane on the first drop but I thought it was more consistent throughout the layout in the front.
How busy was it today? It was VERY quiet yesterday - I left the park 20 minutes before close and there were 11 cars left in the car park.
Agree with Speed - it...
Managed to get round to Oakwood today. Megafobia is running beautifully. The retracking is absolutely fantastic - the airtime round the track is next level especially in the front row. Managed six rides and they were all fantastic. The turn at the top of lift hill hasn’t been retracked and is a...
Drenched is hopefully opening this Summer pending the work on the boat - though given how quiet the park was yesterday I can’t imagine they’d be in a rush to reopen it.
In other news there’s a fairly big area fenced off by Spooky Street - enough room for a decent family coaster. Spooky 3D has...
Mixed news from Oakwood. They’ve just announced a season of events - it looks pretty good to be fair and I’m sure will help sell some season passes.

However, on further inspection of the website it appears that for the pirate Easter event only a...
I would say Looping Group would do a good job - they seem to be good at refurbishing parks. But then not all parks seem to get good new investments - Pleasurewood Hills has lost a few rides and not had anything new in a while.
Oakwood did get a Disk’o a few years ago but it needs something new...
The park has seen such little investment over recent years so this is a good sign - along with the retheme of the dire Spooky 3D. The park has a long way to go though - most of the park needs refurbishment but the park is also lacking in rides. As things stand it’s not really a full day park.
DLP Report on Twitter have confirmed that work will be happening this spring to add more lighting in the attraction. It won’t be anything major as the work will all take place when the park is closed with no scheduled downtime. Hopefully this will cure some of the dead moments during the ride.
TBH I imagine Merlin would be all over a Tourbillon. Visually they look impressive and would be so easy to theme to X Sector. Capacity would be an issue - not that that would bother them.
I’m pretty sure I read that nothing new will be coming to Parc Disneyland until they finish all the work on the Studios, which I don’t think will be complete before 2027.
Does anybody know if this new change in direction is helping? Is the park busier? Not to be cynical but when I think of this it reminds me of American Adventure …
Alton Towers have announced three of the four mazes for this Scarefest are returning ones: Altonville Mine Tours, The Attic and Darkest Depths. Don’t get me wrong I do think they are very good mazes but I can’t help but feel very underwhelmed. The return of AMT is a surprise as this will be its...
I was at Thorpe Park a couple of weeks ago and the operations were mixed. Nemesis Inferno was fantastic - the operator in the booth was asking people in the air gates to give their bags to the person at the front to minimise time wasted. He also told us we had 30 seconds to board and close the...
An indoor family coaster would work well I think. The coaster selection jumps from El Diablo to Stampida so I think something in between wouldn’t go amiss.
I think it looks MUCH better than RNRC. Especially the building exterior, queue and preshow (the preshow for RNRC has to be the worst preshow ever). In terms of the ride experience I’m definitely underwhelmed, but the bar was so low. Other than lights and rigging, there was nothing in RNRC. It...
The trains on Colossus are indeed appalling. I however find the front worse. The floor slopes upwards at the front of the trains and this makes it more difficult to close the restraint for me. I’ve never had an issue with any coaster but last time I went to Thorpe the operators had to give my...
I think Oblivion at its peak was really very good. It was designed to be about the drop and everything was planned to accentuate that. The horizontal chain on the turn at the top of the lift hill to prolong the time it takes to get to the edge. The holding drop (that used to hold for much...
When it comes to PortAventura and Terra Mítica, I genuinely think it comes down to quality. It might be a bit simplistic but PortAventura opened with a good quality of quality attractions and a solid line up of shows too. Very good level of themeing too - especially for a European park in the...
In regards to the closure of Black Buccaneer, I wonder if this trend will continue at Alton and Thorpe too. They both have rides that still haven’t opened this year, Quantum and Enterprise, and I wonder if these will be quietly shelved at some point during the season.
