Another ride to probably leave Blackpool

Not many of us go on it? Bollocks! It's one of the most quirky attractions at any UK theme park, it's excellent fun!

This is just a rumour so I'll treat it as that but anything is possible with That Thompson Woman in charge. I hope it isn't true.

There's talk of it simply becoming a "visual attraction". No idea why or if it's any truer than talk of it going, but the kiosk and steps have definitely gone and it's not on the ride list this year.

There was a lot of work put into trying to get Noah's ark listed a couple of years ago, but the people doing it met such a huge resistance by "fans" of the Pleasure Beach - they just gave up making the effort.

If the people who say they love the place are against saving these fantastic, classic, special attractions - then why should somebody working in an office interested in history and legacies bother? So it was dropped - if it goes, remember to say thanks to the hard core Pleasure Beach fans.

That was the thing I liked about Blackpool, it had all the old school attractions...

But since it's getting rid of all of them, I don't like it anymore...

Evidently the 'fans' think it'd stop the progress of the park keeping the older attractions, where it more seems to lose fans in the coaster community (at least on here)...

The only one left would be Kennywood, thankfully, they like to keep older rides, so it's the best place for one to be...

A trip to Blackpool is not complete without a crazy journey of self discover on the arch that is Noah.

Will miss it so much if it goes!

^ Thanks, but the Mobius racer at BPB is better than the one at Kennywood.

Now I am annoyed. The 'never ending fun house' is one the best attractions at the Pleasure Beach, I'll be so gutted if thie is turns out to be true.

all I can say is

:cussing: :angry5: :big14: :big4:

I love noah;s ark ......

maybe these "fans" are actually the thompson family - the classic old rides were one of the biggest appeals of BPB

Yes, so I suppose (if this is true) we will start to see the classics leaving the Pleasure Beach. RC last year, now this...

^Way to appreciate a bit of history there Brad :p

I didn't particularly like the ride. I am not a huge of fan of these types of attractions.

However, as a piece of history and nostalgia, I am shocked and dissapointed that this is even a rumour. It seems that they are very intent on getting rid of anything from Blackpool of old and whilst I appreciate that progress should be made and things have to change sometimes, there should be an element at the core of it all that harks back to their heyday. Especially considering it wasn't just their heyday. Im talking about back when the seaside holiday was a massive part of the British culture. Blackpool have a hand-full of rides that capture that and stand as a reminder of Britain gone by.

Granted, I can see this from both sides... Noah's Ark could be getting right in the way for a massive development that will see Blackpool get something innovative and fantastic. So therefore progress and change is needed and the ride should go, making way for the future. In this instance I pray it makes its way down to the Heritage Park in Margate. It would be worth noting that there have been a few removals like this now and yet nothing has come of the land. It has just been left as yet more empty space so the idea of it closing and being removed for something new is just a little far fetched in my mind.

There is a part of me though, that clings to history and the way things used to be, like a raggidy old teddy bear.

At the moment, unless they announce something new and amazing is happening, I would rather they keep the Ark.

Of course, this is all conjecture anyways, what with it just being a rumour...

I LOVED Noahs Ark. It went on for ages and was great fun. Why do they have to get rid or it? It was working fine and wasn't in the way of anything.
Once again BPB makes another **** decision.

I agree with Ollie. It's always worth a visit and you get a few laughs from it. It was closed last time I went in Summer, but that might have just been a technical fault. It's stupid that there closing down something that will cost more to shut and move, than to keep open, if that makes sense :p
