^Way to appreciate a bit of history there Brad
I didn't particularly like the ride. I am not a huge of fan of these types of attractions.
However, as a piece of history and nostalgia, I am shocked and dissapointed that this is even a rumour. It seems that they are very intent on getting rid of anything from Blackpool of old and whilst I appreciate that progress should be made and things have to change sometimes, there should be an element at the core of it all that harks back to their heyday. Especially considering it wasn't just their heyday. Im talking about back when the seaside holiday was a massive part of the British culture. Blackpool have a hand-full of rides that capture that and stand as a reminder of Britain gone by.
Granted, I can see this from both sides... Noah's Ark could be getting right in the way for a massive development that will see Blackpool get something innovative and fantastic. So therefore progress and change is needed and the ride should go, making way for the future. In this instance I pray it makes its way down to the Heritage Park in Margate. It would be worth noting that there have been a few removals like this now and yet nothing has come of the land. It has just been left as yet more empty space so the idea of it closing and being removed for something new is just a little far fetched in my mind.
There is a part of me though, that clings to history and the way things used to be, like a raggidy old teddy bear.
At the moment, unless they announce something new and amazing is happening, I would rather they keep the Ark.
Of course, this is all conjecture anyways, what with it just being a rumour...
