I'm actually under the impression that some people felt underwhelmed.

But Sanbrooke reckons it's the best ride in the UK, so I'm staying hopeful. Less than 2 weeks till I ride.

I rode it today, i'd write up a review later, but imo it's perhaps not the best in the uk, (although i did get on film saying that haha, i was caught in the moment) it's super super fun with some great air-time, but it kinda dies right by the end, and its lacking on the intensity. Maybe it will warm up.

I disagree, for me it delivered a great ride right up until the very end.

It's not going to be the world's most intense ride, Mack coasters never are, but it's smooth, has great airtime even in places where you wouldn't expect, the near misses are excellent also.

The transition into the Big Dipper Hi-five had a great unexpected pop of air!

I also expect reviews to be overwhelming positive today given those who are riding paid £25 for the privilege to do so. Even if it's bad, they'll convince themselves it's good to justify paying so much for a cred.

But yeah, it'll still be a good ride. I expect a few disappointed people though - given how much this has been hyped up, people are almost setting themselves up to be letdown.

Managed to ride the first public train on the back, then got asked to ride front row to be filmed.

Incredible ride, I found it much better at the front but the back was brilliant too. It’s definitely my U.K. No.1. Just relentless the whole way round.

Honestly can't trust a word Sanbrooke says... He's saying it's the best coaster in the UK which we all knew he'd say, but now he's saying that the zero-g roll is the best one ever, and that bluefire's is too fast? Yet he goes on about the roll on bluefire all the time as the best thing since sliced bread.

The thing is, I want to hate him, cos he's such a dork and everything he does has a slight undercurrent of 'Aren't I such a lucky boy?' to it, but I have to admit he's actually pretty good at the whole presenting-a-vlog thing. Fair play to him.
And yeah, Icon. Looks decent, but ffs will someone please upload a POV.

Is it weird that when I watch TPW's videos, I never see any of these things? Maybe I'm just unobservant.

On to Icon, all the positive reviews are making me want August to come a lot sooner, because that's when I'll get to experience Icon myself for the first time, along with all the other great-looking attractions at BPB. Valhalla is another ride I am greatly looking forward to at BPB; well, I'm looking forward to everything, because BPB is just so different to everywhere I've been in the past, but Valhalla and Icon both look like the crown jewels of the park from the perspective of someone who's never visited!

The landscaping/theming should be finished by official opening next week. Still not sure about the relaxing garden though. I suppose the whole plaza is a garden, though.
