Busch Gardens Williamsburg Christmas Town

Hi, I'll be visiting family in Virginia for Christmas and am planning to visit Busch Gardens Williamsburg for their Christmas Town event. I saw on their website only some of the coasters are open and was just asking here to see if anyone's been to this event and if they think it's worth doing. Main things I'm worried about are do the outdoor coasters that are open ever close due to it being too cold in the winter, are the wait times insane, and is it worth a $99 ticket with only some coasters operating. Also if anyone has any general tips like which ride to rope drop and such they'd be greatly appreciated, thank you.

BGW is my home park.

This year Big Bad Wolf, Darkoaster, Verbolten and Apollo's Chariot will be open coaster-wise. Temperature cutoff is 40F (4C) for the outdoor coasters.

Most of if not all flat rides will be operational along with the train and skyride.

If you've been to the park before, it's worth seeing at Christmas. The park does a great job with the decorations and the shows.

Depending on when you go, you'll either have the whole park to yourself or it'll be wall to wall. I'd suggest going once the park starts weekday operations in December. Early November isn't too bad either, but avoid Thanksgiving weekend

The park holds sales on tickets all the time. Right now single day tickets are on sale for $31. https://buschgardens.com/williamsburg/events/christmas-town/tickets-and-upgrades/

Thank you so much for the info! I ended up getting my tickets for the Sunday after Christmas, I'm hoping it won't be too crowded. Very excited to go!

Christmas week will be busy for sure. Winter break draws heavy crowds. It won't be as bad as Disney or Uni that time of year, but expect long lines. I'd arrive early to get a head start on the rides before the really heavy crowds roll in right before sundown.

Yeah that’s what I figured :(. I’m only in Virginia from Christmas Eve to New Years Day unfortunately so I’ll make sure to get there for opening and get as much done as possible early. Thanks for your help!
