What's new

Casino Pier | Hydrus | Gerstlauer Euro-Fighter

The main difference between a Eurofighter and an Infinity Coaster is the completely redesigned trains. Eurofighters can only have 2 rows in a single car, but an Infinity Coaster can have trains of up to 8 rows. I think the Infinity Coaster is just the newer version of Gerstlauer coaster, probably to replace the Eurofighter.

This is what I think, so I don't have any sources for this.

Yeah I think the infinity is just the next generation of what they called the eurofighter that include advancements such as magnetic roll back, better trains, etc and not really an entirely different coaster concept. The signature asset of the eurofighter and what used to be it's main selling point imo was the vertical lift spike/beyond vertical drop. The reason we haven't seen these on many infinity coasters is because they arent as impressive or desirable as they used to be. It feels right to separate the two with the new technology and shift in design ethos. They'll still offer the existing eurofighter models for parks that want a cheap, thrilling roller coaster just like when vekoma still build these SLCs when they have had their next-gen track design for years.

For those who are curious, from the brochures on Gerstlauer's website I took following information:
Differences between nfinity and [E]uro-Fighter:

Trains with 2 - 8 rows* [E] Always 2 rows
An elevated and more open sitting position compared to [E]
has new lap restraints, with the option of automatic closing
Runs smoother than [E] and is capable of running at speeds of 130km/h and above.
Has a silent anti-rollback with the option of a slow, controlled rollback

*Max. 4 rows for a vertical lift

As many said, Infinity is just an updated Euro-Fighter, Euro-Fighters are still offered as a cheaper alternative, they also have lower operating costs (at least Gerstlauer says the Euro-Fighter has low running costs while they don't say it in the Infinity Brochure)

Certainly a Euro Fighter with the lift structure, but the trains seem like Euro Fighter bodies, but Infinity seats and restraints.

Construction video covering most of the stuff going on...

Seems so bizarre having all the hardware on site when they haven't even built the area it's gonna go yet!

Awesome announcement video...
Eurofighter, 72ft lift, 97 degree drop, 1050ft long (so shorter than Iron Shark which is most of the video); loop, heartline, immelmann (so different to Iron Shark).

I think we're just going to see some form of variant of the 320+ layout to be honest, that just so happens to be 72ft tall, have a 97º drop and a layout of just over 50ft longer - so could easily be manipulated to become slightly shorter.

I personally think that the only reason they showed Iron Shark is because it's near the seaside and in a similar environment to what this coaster will be.

^^&^ Yep. I spoke with Gerstlauer about it IAAPA and it's a slight variation on the 320+ model like Untamed/Rage, but shorter (no final helix).

Sooooo is this classed as a custom Eurofighter...? Its just this was posted in the Parque National Del Cafe thread here

All I'm saying is that IF Gerstlauer ever roll out another custom model Eurofighter I'll run around Downing Street naked.
and we all want that to happen.

That's quite interesting, I'm guessing after the heartland roll it just banks to the right and into the brakes?

Edit: Just found this on LinkedIn!

A construction update of the ride area shows the ride is progressing greatly. The coaster's lift has been topped off, and the drop awaiting one more piece.
