Casual Copyright Infringement

I love a good bit of casual copyright infringement. It always amuses me when you see well known characters pop up in unlicenced location, particularly if they're really badly drawn!

Here's an interesting PTR I stumbled across of Happy World in Burma, home to some of the most beautifully crap knock-offs I've seen

What do you make of the knock-off phenomenon? Where are your favourite examples?

This is HORRIBLE!

What I never understand is like... The direct ripoffs make sense and the edited ripoffs make sense, but the just badly made ripoffs are like... Huh? Why? Why of all the choices of things to change about the teletubby design would you go for those eyes and lips??

Hahah, excellent topic.

Although they're not awful copies, I'm sure Brean have the necessary license to use the various Disney character models in the park!

The thing is, the mickey mouse one actually looks pretty close to the original, in comparison to the rest of the characters there!

That haunted house looks awesome!

As for other examples of blatant rip-offs, one of my favorites is the never-opened Wonderland near Beijing, which of course was a direct rip-off of Disneyland. Maybe it's just because I love checking out pictures of abandoned parks.

How's this for creepy?

On the other hand, you have Shijingshan Amusement Park, also in Beijing, which has absolutely nothing to do with Disney whatsoever, according to park officials:

^^Peter Pan is one of tricky ones, as the story (obviously) predates the Disney version of him. Alice In Wonderland is another one, as are anything Disney spun out of the Grimm Brother's stuff. If they don't copy the exact versions from the movies, they're usually OK legally.

That Teletubby might make me cry.

Besides the park in Beijing, I can't think of another one that's as awful; however, the characters that walk around on the streets of Hollywood are hilarious. The copyright infringement Hello Kitty was hilarious and rude.

Omg the CREATURES on Hollywood Blvd are disgusting.

Anyone who knows me knows I **** hate this sort of thing, I've seen most of the stuff posted in here before. Anybody remember Nara Dreamland, another Disneyland rip off from Japan?

Also, Europa Park has a few rides which are pretty blatant Disney rip offa, like their Haunted House with the stretching room ;)

Connyland's dinosaur shooter is quite blatant:

The Peter Pan walkthrough at Star City in Manila, Luzon, is actually amazing:
