Yeah, that was my thought as well.
But aren't there loads of that concept all around the world, all pretty successful?Taxi said:_koppen said:caffeine_demon said:Huh?? :?:

The whole concept wasn't really thought through all the way. It's no surprise it's been so hard to maintain.

I'm talking about the early years of TTD. When the ride was closed more the first few seasons than it was open.
Dragster and Xcelerator were basically planned and designed at the same time. The Hydraulic launch was also new at the time. They only had a few months to get Xcelerator's maintenance down, which was only 82mph and 205'. Dragster is 120mph and 420', making every possible problem with Xcelerator amplified. We all know how unreliable the system was (at the time). They should of waited a few years to get all the bugs worked out before attempting something as grand as Dragster.
I'm not saying I'm mad that they did it because I love the Dragster. It's just that it could of waited, that's all. Not a smart business move at the time. The ride ended up costing much more than anticipated.
OK... fair enough. Suppose it's better to take a chance on what could work than wait around and let others catch up though.Taxi said:Robbie said:But aren't there loads of that concept all around the world, all pretty successful?
