What's new

Changsha new construction

Yo

This ride and all the stats are all from an article posted when the park opened its new inverted coaster on Christmas Eve.
https://mp.weixin.qq.com/s/k1tlqPcDLVbJ3TfQr8VY2g

Pretty much as soon as the ride opened they announced a launched coaster for the following year as well as a picture of Bullet Coaster from Happy Valley Shenzhen. While there is not really any confirmation the ride is an S&S the park is owned by OCT who own the Happy Valley franchise and have built 3 S&S launchers so far and they do talk about compressed air launch so its pretty much guaranteed.

The height stats match that of Bullet Coaster and OCT Thrust SSC100 (Happy Valley Shenzhen and Wuhan respectively) but the launch speed seems a little off. But its early days and Chinese news outlets aren't particularly known for getting their stats spot on.

That's all the info that's shown up so far but shall be keeping an eye on it.

Edit: looked into it a bit further after you mentioned it as it has been a while. Seems it will be S&S according to this article

Having more of these in the world is no bad thing.

While we're on the subject, do you have any more info on this @roomraider?

Ah the enigma that is the Heze Air Launched coaster.
As far as I can tell it has never opened or operated but just kind of sat there SBNO.

Now this park is well out the way and i can count on 2 hands how many pictures I have seen of this ride so I can't say for sure but you would expect at least one person who has visited to shoot a shot of the train going round. Theres plenty of shots of the Wild Mouse going at the same park so I reckon its been SBNO ever since it was built.

Thanks @roomraider that thing has been bugging me for ages (filed it under odd things to find out about one day). I'm possibly off to Shandong this year. Don't think I'll make the effort to get out to this park (unless I find myself nearby - gonna look at some graphite mines out in the sticks so who knows).
