Cheetah Hunt- Intamin for Busch Gardens Tampa

So they're essentially telling people how testing works so that no one starts going "OMG! Cheetah Hunt's broken!!!".

Yes, that was the jist of the information. Personally I feel it's good to inform the public about what's going on, so everybody doesn't get on Facebook and go "OMFG the NEW BUSH GARDENS RIDE IS UNSAFE!!!!!"...

Reminds me when they were testing Xcelerator to see how fast they could launch it, and during those days the trains almost completely out the back of the station to launch. Rumored speed it hit was 105 mph. People walked by saying how unsafe it looked as it flew over the top, but they had a worker saying it was just testing and messing around with the speed, and it wouldn't be like that when it opened. Needless to say it looked awesome.

Not entirely sure how they can do that as the catch car latches onto the center car, and the catch car does infact need some distance to slow to a stop...

I know where the catch car is, and it confuses me now as well. At the time, I was not an enthusiast, well not as much as I am now, and it may have been them messing with the brakes and letting the train roll out, then bring it back in, let it catch, and then launch, I don't know but I clearly remember that.

Looking good! I might be able to get to the park sometime this week after Tuesday, so hopefully we can have some video footage of our own. :)

It sounds like it really sucks having to pull the train back every time, especially for the second launch.

Well I think this has a lot of potential. I think tit looks great fun.

:)

Okay, so a little bit late, but most of this hasn't been posted anywhere else, soooo... a new update, by yours truly! This was on Thursday, from around ten thirty to noon.

So, they were laying sod down around the hop over the skyride:

The first train was on the brake run at this point:

And they were working on stuff there:

When I came back here later, the train was gone and I think was sitting on the third launch.

They took the work walls down from the bridge to Edge of Africa over the coaster and put up nets:

While in the area, I saw Mark Rose (the VP of design and engineering) talking with some other people in hardhats. They then went to check on stuff:

Now on to the station area:

Continuing on the concrete for the plaza:

They had taken down the work walls on the lower deck as well, and were painting the fence:

The station building, with continued work on the "driftwood" statues:

More work with various poles and other theming elements:

Work on what may be a snack stand or something:

Foliage going in place, it really adds to the area:

And, finally, a new sign for the skyride:

I think later in the day they were testing around the whole circuit, I must have left before that though.

Everything is really starting to come together and it's looking very nice. The track is full of gorgeous curves and the station plaza area is looking lovely already.

Apart from the retarded name, I think this actually looks pretty cool. I wonder if they're launching it at full speed yet? It looks really graceful and cool.

:)

The first bit will be, because it won't be going any faster over that should-have-been-a-Top-Hat-thing... The tops of the hills in and out of it are too tight for it to be any faster on that part. Dunno about the rest, but, it looks like it won't go much faster through the turns where it's bi-rail.

I don't think they'll have wanted it to be TOO intimidating/scary/quick like Maverick, to keep it quite "family", so it might not be up to full speed but I can't see it getting TOO much faster...

Yeah, that honestly can not be a full speed test...it is barely getting over alot of those elements, especially after the third launch. Lets give it a little while longer to see what it can do. :)
