On paper it seems like a weird location for being a 'Chengdu' park, though I found it to still be quite a high traffic visitor area. Dujiangyan and it's railway station are like a tourist gateway to mountains and pandas tours and the park was relatively busy, for a Sunac, even in winter.

Hope it's just coaster specific issues.

I've just been today, and yeah, the area isn't as isolated as I thought it was going to be, but it's just not a Chengdu park realistically. I took a taxi from the middle of the city and it took almost an hour and a half, and apart from a couple of busy spots that lasted a few minutes each time, traffic wasn't an issue. I think it's one of those cases of building something in a tourist area and hoping for the best, but the people heading there aren't going for that at all. I wonder how many Chengdu locals see it as a viable day trip when Happy Valley is so close to the city centre and has a metro station next to it.

It's a weekend right in the middle of Golden Week now, and the park didn't reflect that at all. All Speeds had a two-train wait at one point, but was otherwise a walk-on. At one point - while the nearby show was on - they were even waiting to fill the train between dispatches. I left at around 3 and people were still filtering in, so maybe it's more of an evening thing.
