I've lost count of the number of group invites I've got on Facebook to make Muppets number one. It's not even that good.

Hypocrite. I don't know how you have the audacity to be annoyed with group invites to be honest

Wasn't it RatM who did the DX song? If so they're awesome. If not they suck.

I'm not proud to admit I know, but yeah, I think it was.

I was all set to go and buy the Rage track when Joe won XFactor, but my iTunes is bastarrrded so I can't!

As Martyn said though, no-one buys single tracks in comparison to 10 years ago now, so its a much less accurate picture of the population's preference these days. Everyone buys albums instead.

Well at the moment the BBC are saying it is very close, but Joes song does not hit the shops until tomorrow which is when they expect it to take the lead.

World wide the Muppets is the most watched and listened to out the lot, but youtube can not count.

Get it from Amazon then - it's only 29p :)

I think The Muppets will do well for The Muppets (coming out of the blue and all), but I just don't think enough people really get the idea - plus the song on its own isn't great, it's the video which makes it :)

DON'T!

If you pay less than 40p for the track, it doesn't count towards the charts. It's 65p at Play.com, though, so buy it from there.

Get with the program Lain :p

As long as Amazon are paying 40p, YOU can pay what you like. Both Amazon and the OCC have said that the 29p version count. This was checked by the guy who started the Facebook group.

It just means Amazon are making a loss per copy they sell :)

The RATM song reminds me of my yoof when I would go to rock clubs, lol. I'm so glad I grew out of that dirty, horrible music, but I loved it at the time.

I will download the RATM track for nostalgic reasons and to be a sheep, although I'll cringe like buggery when I hear it again.

BAAAA!

Tbh it still sounds good :) Reminds me of being at Uni in Manchester.

The clean version is rubbish though.

Yes, Marc, ina away I agree, it still sounds ok. I certainly wouldn't listen to it unless it had been part of my formative late-teenage years.

At least it sounds ok now to my ears after 12 years when I first heard it, unlike that awful Joe Factor song. I've switched over the radio station everytime it (Joe) has come on. I've only heard it once all the way through, and that was on the show itself.

So yeah, I've downloaded KITN. BAAAAA!

Mark, I think the reason the call is on for RatM is twofold.

1. It's a great song which hasn't lost impact, or appeal (to a certain set of musical tastes) for almost 20 years. It's an easy sell because a huge number of people like it.

2. It's the antithesis of an X-Factor release. It's as far to the opposite extreme as you can get from the karaoke pap Simon Cowell over-produces year in, year out.

I couldnt agree more (although I don't particularly like the song). I totally get the reasons and all that. I just wish it was something a little more family orientated really, since that is what Christmas is all about. But meh, it really isn't a big deal either way...

Oh and....

I laughed a hell of a lot for that one!

Joe Factor's track's a Miley Cyrus track originally, which alone makes me want something else at number one. Plus, Tom Morello is much better on guitar. *goes to Amazon*

ITS HIT no1!!! CHECK ITUNES.

Yeah brilliant song. Will buy it. Tom Morello <3

And the reason i think its so damn choice is because its saying to X Factor. The lovely line of...

**** YOU I WON'T DO WHAT YOU TELL ME!!

^ It was no.1 yesterday then lost out. But looks good, but the hard copy goes on sale tomorrow...grrr...

Yeah.... real Christmassy that......

Id rather hear a family/kids/party song get it tbh but there ya go. I suppose I should be grateful that it may buck some certain ideas up in the music industry!

I do agree with what some people in the media is saying, the one who gets hurt in all of this will be Joe, when he really isnt the bad guy in all of this!

On the radio this morning they were saying that even some HMV stores have been trying to get hold of the the RatM single to sell too.

It's all getting so much media attention I love it.

I don't care if it's not Christmassy, it's got to the stage where anything to beat Cowell is acceptable!

And I've just learned they're covering a Miley Cyrus song? WTF!?!
