CoasterForce’s Favourite Florida Rollercoasters

Hi guys. You may have noticed that I just posted the results of a poll calculating CF’s favourite German rollercoasters. Well, I had so much fun calculating those results that I thought that if you guys are willing to participate, I might start doing one of these polls each month! So, this month I decided to do CoasterForce’s Favourite Florida Rollercoasters! I thought that it was about time I gave some of the USA members an opportunity to contribute, and Florida is a place where the majority of members on here have been at some point. Also, I was quite intrigued to see what the current favourites in the state are before VelociCoaster and Iron Gwazi fever inevitably takes over later this year!

As I’ve actually been to Florida, I’ll get the ball rolling by posting my own list:

Well, Florida is very much an untapped territory for me, as I only visited one park more than 10 years ago, but at least that one park had some good rides in it.

Difficult to rank them because some are more about theming and others are more about the coaster itself.

E.g. my personal favourite is Rock 'n' Roller Coaster because I like the theme and it has nostalgic value.

But for the coaster itself, Mako is best by far.

Cor blimey - There's at least 20 major coasters in Florida, heck, just in Orlando alone, that I haven't ridden yet, so my list will probably look a bit weird to someone who's been more recently. But hey ho, nowt I can do about that, so here goes.

4 & 5. The Duelling Dragons... when they duelled.
6. Sheikra.

Good Question.

1. Mako - great coaster. My overall number 1
2. Manta - criminally underrated - but I suppose it depends on your thoughts on flying coasters. I love them
3. SheiKra - my highlight of my BGT visit
4. Expedition Everest - surprisingly forceful and supremely rerideable
5. Revenge of the mummy - So different. So surprising. So brilliant
6. Incredible Hulk - good coaster, but far from a highlight of Florida for me
7= Montu
7= Kumba - genuinely, if you asked me to tell you which of these two I preferred I just wouldn't have a clue. I kind of recall feeling the same on both
9. Seven Dwarves mine trim - I don't care. I love it
10. Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit - but only when I use the "secret" soundtrack to get Muse Stockholm syndrome playing
 
I'll give this one a shot. Overall rank in parenthesis. Velocicoaster and Iron Gwazi should help to perhaps sneak a Floridian coaster into my top ten. Tentatively planning to visit next winter once the hype (and Covid) die down.

Haven’t done Hagrids, Mako or Mineblower which would all probably rank quite highly.

The first three are fixed, the latter five are probably quite interchangeable.

I find Hulk to be quite underrated amongst the enthusiasts. It’s extremely unique and has an iconic layout over the lake.

Duelling Dragons were always a bit overrated in my view. Concept was better than the execution. Also there was a lot of ugly grey because of the supports.

^^^ I mean how can Tigris beat hulk?! I went on a SkyRocket 2 at Holiday Park and would be quite happy to never ride one again. Each to their own though :)
