Do you have a favourite TV ad?

Adverts seem to be at a stage where to get our attention they do something really special, whether that be a 5 minute montage, a catchy tune or they have a ridiculous character that has an epic catchphrase.

So do you have a favourite or two and why?


There are a few I have to mention. Obviously the main one is Cillit Bang with Barry Scot and his ingenious catchphrase "Bang and the stain has gone". I tried to find the ad on youtube but I could only find the classic remix, have fun.

However my new favourite is this new Virgin Atlantic ad which in my opinion is just epic. Fusing the epic stylings of a James Bond film intro with one of the best song covers by the epic Muse it, for me, just makes me very happy. If you haven't seen it, here it is:

Damn it Inverse. Yeah, ^ that one. In fact, Heineken adverts are consistently brilliant. For instance this classic:

There aren't really any other ads on at the moment that I particularly like. The Alexandr meerkat adverts have been going on so long now that I'm bored of them.

I think my all time favourite ad is probably the Irn Bru Snowman parody.

The Virgin 25 years advert was better than that one, Peep. Better music too!

I can think of plenty of really bloody annoying ones though.

VW always seem to make clever adverts.
 
My all time favourite has to be the Gorilla advert by Cadbury's:

I used to run downstairs in the middle of the night if I heard Phil Collins on the T hoping it was that advert. It is the only advert where on the first viewing, my house fell silent and then clapped at the end of it. Hard to believe that was 3 years ago back in August/September 2007 :lol:

I agree that the current Heineken advert is made of win <3 It quite simply is epic.

Cillit Bang with Barry Scott is of course a legendary advert which I think started the trend of annoying characters on TV adverts.

I also love the Natural Confectionery adverts notably this one:

I could never list my favourite adverts, there are FAR to many that I'm really impressed by.

I like all sorts though, the funny, the clever, the simple, the subtle, the rude, anything!

So no, I do not have a favourite advert.

This one. It's actually funny unlike most TV ads which try to be funny and end up being annoying.
