I agree it's pretty clear it's supposed to be an aircraft hanger, given the "Hidden Hollow Aviation" logos and text splashed over it. Maybe they could've done a bit better with some open hangar doors, or a few banners, or something along those lines, though...

The aviation theme doesn't feel like an excuse to avoid exterior theming - I've not been on the ride, but isn't the whole point that it's supposed to be an amphibious vehicle? is the first part not basically a flight simulator?

I think people are being a little harsh on Dollywood here. The building is what it is - you can't easily hide or embellish something that big, and it kind of comes with the territory if you want an indoor ride. Sure, something like Monsters Unchained has a much nicer building - but I imagine the budget is an order of magnitude over this. For $60 million, to have crammed a hybrid flight simulator/rollercoaster/flume/dark ride into one experience, including the cost of the building, internal theming, external landscaping, etc., and given it's essentially a prototype - is quite an achievement. I think the green actually looks alright.

Also - I've not been to Dollywood since Wildwood Grove has existed so I might be wrong here, but from what I've seen, the theming seems... light. Maybe it's grown in, but Big Bear Mountain's landscaping is nothing to write home about either; it has one little cave/grotto feature and a plain tunnel; otherwise it's more or less just in a field? I don't know that the bar was super high in Wildwood Grove to begin with that this is so out of place?

Dollywood itself has set the expectation on aesthetics given how the rest of the park looks, so it's fair to critique them on something that's below their standard.

Just look at Blazing Fury in the other side of the park. Yes the Nightflight warehouse is much bigger, but Blazing Fury's show building isn't exactly small either. And they'd done a good job wrapping the entrance/surroundings with the wooden facades. The line of trees between that and Wild Eagle are also helpful.

Regarding Wildwood Grove, photos honestly don't really give off a great impression of the area but visiting in person earlier this year I thought the area looked better than expected. It still needs improvement, but that's primarily around Big Bear's layout sitting on an open grassy field which is a little jarring compared to all the other coasters, which are nestled in between a lot of nice trees.

I'd also argue a little that Dollywood is held in higher standard than it really is by some. It's a nice enough park, but honestly, it's a lot of the same thing - and if you like that vibe, great.

If anything, I actually like that they're doing something a bit different here that's at least a bit of a twist on the Tennessee Smoky/olde country thing.
