Weird, sort of random +1 topic, but while making an Egg and Bacon sandwich the other day, my friend told me I was wrong to put the bacon in the sandwich with the egg on top. I told him it was how I like it.

And then earlier, somebody had an egg and bacon roll at school in a seasoned bun - it was hard to tell what way it was supposed to be up. So I told him that egg must be on top, before he took a bite, then switched it around and said it was better.

So, basically, do you put your Bacon in first, with an Egg on top, or egg first with bacon on top?

I don't really care, but I would personally put the egg on top.

It's simply because when the runny yolk goes "splurge", it hits the bread and gets mostly soaked up by it, rather than running down the bacon and onto your chin (#bad blood, is like an egg stain on your chin; you can lick it, but it still won't go away#).

However, I really don't care, and wouldn't check to see how a bacon and egg butty was assembled before I bit into it.

Who gives a ****?

I don't think twice about it.

What freak of nature wouldn't???

Even better with a minute steak on there too and a couple of lamb kidneys. Farmyard breakfast sandwich FTW!!!

I'm English and I've NEVER heard of someone doing Bacon and Egg sandwiches...

Sausage and Egg though <3

Is that because you've spent your entire life with nails in your eyes and coat hangers puncturing your eardrums?

What do you think is on a bacon and egg McMuffin??? Creamed caviare and trifle?

I've had bacon and egg sandwiches in almost every part of the UK from a greasy spoon... Though admittedly, not Northampton.

Though Sausage and egg is also good - but leave cheese out of the equation on sliced bread (you can go there on a muffin) :)

^Clearly win. <3

Freaks of nature need to stick together ;)

Ben's only ever had sausages in his mouth..... /ciallbasedinnuendo

The Bacon and Egg sandwich from Tesco isn't bad, shame its stupidly salty.

I really don't pay attention. I call it a bacon and egg though, but not necessarily in that order.

Er, usually Bacon on top. However, if it's sausage and eggs, sausage goes on bottom. Cheese always goes right over the eggs.

Preferablly on a biscuit or bagel. Yum...

A. Muffins are a totally different food, with a totally different set of possible fillings to sandwiches.

B. I don't actually look at the menu for McDonald's breakfast because NOTHING could hope to beat a double sausage and egg McMuffin with extra hash <3

Never heard of an egg & bacon sandwich - love bacon & egg sandwiches though.
Bacon on bottom definately

Whenever I make a layered sandwich, I layer it from hardest to softest food, so the hardest food is at the bottom.

When I eat a sandwich, my thumbs are on the bottom slice of bread and applying more pressure than my fingers on the top slice in order to keep the sandwich together. It makes sense for the harder food to be where the most pressure so the sandwich stays in one piece or in case my thumbs puncture the bread.

Bacon is harder than egg so the egg will always be on top.

You're so OCD Ian

White Bread = flour, water, yeast and oil baked
Muffins = flour, water, yeast and baking soda baked.

Completely different food  :p

You must have once looked, otherwise you'd have never seen the double sausage and egg McMuffin in the first place :p

Though you're right, it's at least 532% better than the bacon and egg version - even if the sausage is really just a burger in disguise :)

No hash for me in the mornings though thanks...

Those sausages are AMAZING. I literally kick myself when i wake up at 11 every morning because I realise I've missed the chance for McDonalds breakfast.

And, on topic, I prefer a plain bacon sandwich, eggs are meant to be in fried rice or soft boiled with soldiers.

Nope, I got my first one bought for me as a surprise, and will never look if there's alrernatives.

But you gotta have the hash <3

I wouldn't check an egg bacon sandwich for their positions, but if I'd make one myself I'd put bacon on top, just feels right, as I also put ham on top of cheese (there was a topic about that sometime ago).

As for bacon and egg Mcmuffins, I've only had it once, actually thinking about it.. it was in Staines, the one near the Travelodge , it was truly horrible, just way too greasy for my liking, but maybe that's just me, lol.
