English Football 2008/2009 Season

All these sackings recently are getting silly! Its getting to the point where you've got a month to make an impact, and if you don't, sod it, you're off. 15 weeks was all Adams got at Portsmouth, and I know it was a crap 15 weeks but give him a chance! There's no guarantee they'll get anyone else with more of a chance of survival, and there's every chance Adams could've turned it round. The same goes for Scolari, okay he wasn't doing quite as well as hoped, but still, top 4 is success, and the top was still well in sight. If one of the best managers in the world (by reputation) can't last a season in the premiership, what hopes have any other new managers got coming into new jobs?
 
^ See if Adams found a way of keeping the defence together he might of done well, as we were good at getting in the lead and dominating. But we kinda sucked at keeping that lead, hence why we lost or drew a lot...
 
Exactly, these things take time to fix. A couple of years ago, Everton were having a problem that when they conceded a goal, the team morale fell to pieces, but until that point, we were holding our own against anyone. Now, look at us, and that's all because of David Moyes' hard work with the squad. Some chairmen wouldn't have had that faith in him (in fact, in the present climate, I guess most wouldn't), but because Bill Kenwright did, we still have him and we're battling to hard to break into the big 4.
 
We're quickly becoming the new Newcastle... :(

In terms of Manager Sackings, our performace in the league isn't quite that bad yet....
but they are going the right way about for it to get like that lol
 
Newcastle have got it nice, regarding managers. Southampton are far worse (I know different leagues but oh well) Take a look at managers from 2000 :lol:

Not really, he's still got Russia to go back to... plus he's best mates with Abramovich so it's not like he'll get bored of him :wink:
 
Then again he is going to be paid an eye-wateringly high amount. Chelsea really don't have any decency anymore, how can they justify firing three of the worlds best managers for finishing second when this time 5 years ago, they were fighting for the Champions League place to save the club?
 
lol yep he has a lot of work to do, selling drogba and bringing in a new striker would be a good start..
 
FFS Borough! What a terrible goal to concede. They should have continued to put on the pressure to try and wrap the game up with a second, instead of packing it in and defending the 1-nil. Now they've got it all to do Tuesday week. :roll:

But which teams are actually in the red?!
It's one thing when you have the money to spend or have an owner who can afford to throw his cash away, but it's another when you're not operating in the black!
 
The main reason we are making a loss is because of the poor decisions to sack managers resulting in us giving out MASSIVE pay outs to them :roll:
 
Not by your list! Only Chelski fit into that category (and Madrid to an extent). The other teams listed aren't cycling through managers, nor shelling out big bucks to ex-coaches.
Abramovich can afford to hire & fire 'til his heart's content, but Madrid are in the red and should be penalized for spending beyond their means.
