English Football 2008/2009 Season

Wow... Liverpool 3-0 Aston Villa, and its only half time.

So while it seems we're closing one door of something new (a club breaking into the top 4), we're well and truly opening another door and if Liverpool keep this consistency, we could well have a title race back on.
 
WTF was rooney doing besides being a twat faced baby. And blaze every manager acts like a ****tard when they loose in a pathetic way so blah.


The run in will be very interesting now. Who ever wins it will rub it in so I don't give a **** really. if liverpool win they will sing about it as the united fans cry and if united win it they sing whilst the liverpool fans cry.


I will say this again "It is only a game not a life and death matter "

I hate fans makeing stupid moans about a team or player.

Players are twats mangagers are twats deal with it

Players cheat or don't cheat so what.

News flash the team that wins wins nothing can change that unless you want to buy the trophy outright.
 
Ugh, what a weekend. Villa lose emphatically. If ever there was a chance to capitalise, this weekend was it. As it was, we whimper at roll over 2-1 to bloody Portsmouth. Man Utd and Chelsea lose, and bloody Liverpool win! It was a footballing nightmare. To top it all, i'm sure Dave's insufferable.

Why dont you just stay out of the football topic, as you clearly dont understand the passion and loyalities of football fans.

Title race was never off, but its well and truely open now.

I am quite worried Man Utd have f*cked it up to be honest.
 
To be honest Rob I was expecting you guys to trolley us about 3-1. Nice when it turns around like that.

TBH I don't really give a **** about the race anymore its getting to be a long drag. Fans can be passionate but not to the point of some ive heard on radio talk shows makeing clames about boycoting the FA or going to burn down a stadia. its a game not a damn warzone. history will be made in which ever direction it goes but all the crap that goes with it can get tobe pathetic. I am more interested in the fight to not fall through the trap door than the title race.

Although my grammar is hardly perfect, I would just like to say that was pretty difficult to read!

Football fans are passionate about the game, if you dont like that, then you'll just have to ignore it.
 
Rooney's paddy against us and Fulham and Ronaldo's sulkiness at Fulham are costing United dear. These two players getting angry with their own team on the pitch is very influential and damaging... love it.

I'm pretty sure whenever Rooney or Ronaldo are sent off in a game they don't win :p

2004 - Aston Villa 0-2 Man Utd. Ronaldo sent off, Rooney played for Everton.

2008. Man City 0-1 Man Utd. Ronaldo sent off, Man Utd still ease to victory.

Those are two examples that stand out, I am sure there is more.

Man Utd will demolish Villa on 5th April and the title charge will be back on track.

Man Utd should win the league, one point clear with a game in hand, and the majority of our games left are at Old Trafford.
 
Its looking like thats going to be the way it goes for Southampton FC. Yet another thats gone tits up.
 
This is primarily down to the huge gulf between the monies that Premier League teams get and teams in the Championship. As a business model it's suddenly as if 90% of your consumer market has inexplixably died, so it creates havoc with your budgeting.

Southampton, I believe were in the Prem from the start (or if not very close to it), so in 2004 they suddenly went from a long standing budget of £30 million to just £2 million. Something which primarily goes down to the TV pay outs for the top flight. I understand why the Premier League has such huge revenues, and it is that that has made it the best league in the world, it was necessary to overtake the the Italians for that mantle in the early 90s.

Also, the creation of the "transfer windows" has killed clubs effectively. Again, this is understandable for the Premier League as it creates excitement and a flurry of movement during these 2 times in the season. But for the lower leagues who don't have the TV money to fall back on then they should be able to return to the transfer system that ran from July 1st - March 31st.

If that was to happen, teams that needed players could just go and buy them. Then you wouldn't have instances like Luton, Leeds and now Southampton, as it just ruins football! :(
 
Too many teams are nearing or are in administration...

Hate to say it but the best example of what the Premiership is like now is to look at Charlton... They tried to punch above their weight and look what's happening now...

Could be many more teams in trouble next year, Palace aren't far off atm...
