Europa Park - 07/04/09

Crazycoaster

Giga Poster
Its mee again! This time I visited Europa Park!

My family have made it a tradition to go here every time we go and visit my grandma, who lives in the Black Forest, about 2 hours away from this wonderful park. I've visited the park nearly once a year for the past 15 or so years, and its been really interesting seeing it develop over this time.

The park has a lot of rides. ALOT. This is one park that really is becoming a park that you cannot do in one day. Unfortunately this is how long I got in the park, so I have a lot less pictures and had to take them in a much more rushed way. The park has 4 hotels all to itself, along with atleast half a dozen B&Bs and a privately owned hotel next door in the town, and I can see why. The park is definitely worth a two day visit to take it all in.

PART 1 - ENTRANCE, GERMANY, ITALY AND FRANCE.

The park can be seen from miles around, and to get to the car park you have to drive down the side of the park, which would have been a good photo op of Blue Fire, but the two pictures I took were REALLY blurred. Oop.

But after that the first thing you see in the car park iiis..

P4070627.jpg

Silver Star!

P4070628.jpg

And Also Pegasus and Poseidon.

P4070626.jpg

Sorry about the sky, the only time I managed to take pictures of the majoritory of this ride was in the morning. Sadly my battery died too son!

P4070629.jpg

Although I must say the sky looks pretty cool in these. 'Moody'. Even if it is kinda grey..

P4070630.jpg

The drop now has a scream guard to deflect screaming and such. Poor Silver Star.

P4070631.jpg

Helix not so much of death, more of casual turning..

P4070632.jpg

CLOSE UP

P4070634.jpg

Yaay! Euromaus!! What I love about this park is that Mack must have had a holiday in Florida just before they created it and were like 'OMG WE'RE STEALING LOTS OF DISNEY IDEAS!'

P4070637.jpg

Looking back towards the car park and Silver Star..

P4070638.jpg

Yaaay! Entraaance!

P4070639.jpg

This is my ticket, courtesy of Tesco!

P4070640.jpg

Looking down 'Germany'.

P4070641.jpg

Yeah it was early in the morning.. my mum was rushing.. my pictures blurred..

P4070642.jpg

Full of random german architecture. Lovely!

P4070643.jpg

YAAAY EUROMAUS WAVED AT MEEEE

P4070644.jpg

More random buildings..

P4070645.jpg

They make you wait just past here until the park officially opens. Then its HAVOCK as everyone tries to run all the way across the park to Blue Fire to find out that it wont open till 11. *shakes fist*

This is only a minor section of Germany, as it includes the Castle gardens further on from this point, which are pretty beautiful, much better upkept compared to Alton's. Alas, I didn't get pictures of those due to bad camera batteries!

P4070855.jpg

Next up in the countryfile we have Italy.

P4070860.jpg

Yes we doo.

P4070862.jpg

That building in the back is the Ghost house. Rips off disney with the streching rooms, singing heads and doom buggies. They added some pretty laughable effects since id last been on, they were quite terrible LOL.

P4070858.jpg

Italy is full of pretty fountains.

P4070859.jpg

And random easter decorations.

P4070857.jpg

In the middle of the bridge..

P4070856.jpg

Yeah okay, I suck at picture taking..

P4070861.jpg

Welcome to Epcot World Showcase!

P4070854.jpg

They have a random wall with a hole.. and through the hole leads too..

P4070853.jpg

The back of the 4D cinema!

P4070852.jpg

New film this year about an alien looking turtle. What country are we in now though?!

P4070851.jpg

Fraaaance!

P4070849.jpg

Home to Spaceship Earth/Eurosat. This ride is randomly cool, and REALLY throws you about. Its basically Space Mountain inside the EPCOT ball. Oh also next to this is the random 'YAAY FOR ENERGY RIDE NOW LETS GO VISIT DINOSAURS!! :D' ride. No pictures soorry.

P4070850.jpg

This region of Germany has lots of water, so they don't feel bad with having 70 million fountains everywhere.

P4070847.jpg

Vivaaaa laa fraaaance!

P4070848.jpg

Its perdee.

P4070846.jpg

The EuroTower!

P4070864.jpg

Behind it is a random eatery.

P4070865.jpg

But for now.. lets go uup!! The park is celebrating its 34th year open. Craazy I remember being there for the 25th celebrations.. OLD.

P4070867.jpg

Oh god, sometimes my photo-skills are embarrassing. I added them anyway to show you some of the park though. This is Italy.

P4070868.jpg

Some of the random gardens with car and boat rides. I had to miss this whole section of the park out due to time restraints =(

P4070869.jpg

This type of boat ride seems very popular in Germany.. Heide Park has one too.

P4070870.jpg

They have a huuge kiddy area not themed to Europe. This time its VIKINGS VS LARGE BRAND OF SUNCREAM AND OTHER CREAM STUFFS NIVEA. FIIIGHT!!

P4070876.jpg

This shows just how close the park is to its neighbouring town of Rust. Theres NO room to expand this way..

P4070872.jpg

Then this is looking towards the back of the park, and its four hotels.

P4070874.jpg

Eurosat and the random 'ENERGY AND DINOSAURS YAAAY' ride.

P4070875.jpg

And heres a Unique shot of Silver Star.

P4070663.jpg

Now lets go ride!

P4070654.jpg

The queue starts towards the right hand side into the building.

P4070653.jpg

The coaster has a new paintjob.. again.

P4070652-1.jpg

These are the most anticlimactic lights ever. It has all the build up and then GREEEN and... The train slowly moves forward.. Boo.

Well thats the end of part one! Part two will contain Swizerland and Greece and England I think.

Silver Star is no fun. :(
Everyone who went on the Euro-Live last year was disappointed with it.

But we had was to make it fun.
We first had loads of sweets from the hotels and every time we went over the hills we watched them ride up, float for a few seconds, then fly off. Twas rather cool.

And Me and Leighton got this backwards POV of it. :)

Glad you had a nice time though. Europa Park 'looks' fantastic. It's just that most (if not all) the rides there are average.
It kinda says something when their children's coaster Pegasus was the best in the park.

Nice report and some great photos of the park from the observation tower. Looking forward to seeing the rest of the report.

Sorry to bump this, but what else happened? I'm curious about Blue Fire...

It's a very nice report so far, though. But I'm hungry for more.

After a biiiig delay I am finally back! Sorry about that, I've been having trouble with photo uploading, but now its all swiiishh.

Aaanyways lets get on with it and start with Merry Ol' England.

P4070836.jpg

They really make everything peeerdy.

P4070837.jpg

See its true.

P4070835.jpg

They have the globe theatre. Yep very british.

P4070834.jpg

What what and all.

P4070833.jpg

Merry Merry!

P4070832.jpg

They have a carousel..

P4070845.jpg

Mooving on.. they have all these randomly beautiful spots that are hidden away on many different little passages and paths. Theres SO much to see its crazy.

P4070839.jpg

Welcome to switzerland! Home of being neutral and watches.

P4070838.jpg

The bop bahn! =D This ride freaks me out because the cars bend in the middle..

P4070840.jpg

I could have waited for a train.. but pshhh.

P4070841.jpg

Could have done it here too..

P4070843.jpg

In the middle of the ride they have a beautiful little village type place with quaint little shops.

P4070658.jpg

Now we make it to the Matterhorn. This was the first ride we went on in the day, hence the yuck clouds.

P4070659.jpg

Yaay for terribly taken pictures..

P4070661.jpg

See really. They're just so terrible.

P4070662.jpg

The theming is amazing. We had to queue for something like 40 minutes, which I've NEVER done before so it was quite nice to actually appreciate some of the theming which I'd usually rush past.

P4070666.jpg

The station music is annoyingly catchy.

P4070667.jpg

The station building from the other side..

P4070668.jpg

Looking round we find greece!

P4070669.jpg

Whooooosh.

P4070670.jpg

It has cool rocks and stuff.

P4070671.jpg

I SEE YOU BIG HORSE

P4070672.jpg

To ride poseidon you have to walk under its butt.

P4070673.jpg

Perdy theming.

P4070674.jpg

The queue started here.. boo hiss. It didnt take that long though.

P4070675.jpg

Looking up the first lift hill.

P4070676.jpg

The boats go chillin' round a lake cuz they're cool.

P4070677.jpg

More awsome theming. Seriously.. any English park PLEASE visit and see how it should be done.

P4070678.jpg

BOOSH

P4070679.jpg

Eurosat is all like 'Hey I look like Epcot'

P4070680.jpg

The theming just kinda gets better..

P4070681.jpg

This is the funny bit of the lift that transforms the ride from 'boat ride' to 'rollercoaster'. Clever Hoover.

P4070686.jpg

The station is immense.

P4070687.jpg

See it really is. Also this ride is magic, we went on it and it was cloudy, but suddenly the clouds all just went POOF. Gone.

P4070688.jpg

Silver Star is all hanging out behind Greece.

P4070689.jpg

Prittyness.

P4070690.jpg

Its all very Grecian which is strange.

P4070691.jpg

Picturesque.

P4070692.jpg

PLOP

P4070693.jpg

Wiiindmillage.

P4070922.jpg

More randomness. They have a Buzz lightyear ride here themed around turtles and atlantis and the sea..

P4070923.jpg

IM CRAZY WATER BALLOON STAND MAN GRR.

And with that I end this part of the story.. tune in next time! Hopefully there won't be as mahoosive of a gap this time.
