Europa Park |"Wodan"| GCI Wood

Re: GCI Wooden Coaster - Europa Park 2012

Europa Park have released a great overview of the layout of the ride, this also includes the layout of the queue, etc...

They have also posted another update with images today: CLICK

I have to say that the layout seems pretty boring compared to other of the same size, but the hill after the first drop seems to have a nice banking the wrong way at the top :p

Re: GCI Wooden Coaster - Europa Park 2012

I always thought the layout did look dull, but just liked the look of it :)

I just hope it carries some nice speed around the layout etc.

Re: GCI Wooden Coaster - Europa Park 2012

I have very little experience of GCI Woodies, but from what I've seen on POV's etc, this looks quite short in comparsion.

Re: GCI Wooden Coaster - Europa Park 2012

I think this ride is going to be phenomenal, the looks of it are enough to convince me.

Re: GCI Wooden Coaster - Europa Park 2012

Oh, I didn't realise it did that little. I take back my prior praise.

Well, hello? How do you thing EP is going to achieve a huge capacity with a long wooden coaster. Since it doesn't have MCBR, it needs to be short. Who says a short ride can't be exciting? Take another GCII: Prowler. After the first drop, it stays low to the ground all the time and it reaches the brakes in no time (something like 40 seconds from lift to brakes). Bad ride? I haven't been on it but all reviews are VERY positive.

I think this project will be something like that.

^Is excite <3

Urrrggghhhh I really want a woodie that's within driving distance! Oh well, Europa Park is definitely happening next year anyway, so yay =D

Re: GCI Wooden Coaster - Europa Park 2012

^ Its not that far away really. I'd say its within driving distance for a long weekend, where you could stop off at Walygator for Monster, too.

Seeing that picture reminded me of something... didn't a wooden coaster once collapse durign strong winds whilst it was being constructed?

Re: GCI Wooden Coaster - Europa Park 2012

^Yeah, it was Troy.

Since come to be known as the Fall of Troy. Which is rather witty as far as coaster jokes go.

I knew someone would say this. What I meant was somewhere I could visit often (more than once a year) and not have to plan a weekend away to visit ;]

Re: GCI Wooden Coaster - Europa Park 2012

^ Summer season closes the first weekend of November, then it's closed for a few weeks and open last weekend in November for the winter season and stays open until early January. Then it's closed until last of March and the next summer season...

Re: GCI Wooden Coaster - Europa Park 2012

I was just wondering in case they would have to close the water coaster for construction, or just do it i the off-seaon. Thanks!

Re: GCI Wooden Coaster - Europa Park 2012

I really love the looks of that drop. not sure about how it will look over that water coaster though.
all i know is that its very view changing.

Re: GCI Wooden Coaster - Europa Park 2012

The park (and most likely the ride) will open for the summer season on the 31:st of March so you will miss it :(

Posting on the go...
