Fantasy Island (UK) Updates - GForce returns p5

Re: Fantasy Island (UK) Updates

Can confirm the increased thickness of the track diameter due to the additional layer of paint will change the ride experience and thus confirm it as a new credit.

That looks **** horrible.

Red and black would have looked so good too :(

I'm with you on that one.......black and yellow - yuck. It works on a B&M invert, but it looks horrible on Veoma track.

Re: Fantasy Island (UK) Updates

Yeah I had doubts when I saw the concept images, but it has grown on me!

Re: Fantasy Island (UK) Updates

I don't mind it either - in fact, I'd definitely say it's an improvement over the previous, much less distinctive scheme.

What I do find a little daft though, is the fact that they've now got two yellow coasters in the same park. This may sound a bit trivial, but to the people who identify them as 'the red' and the 'yellow' coasters, that's a bit of a problem :p

It's nice to see a UK park putting more effort into their colour schemes...it certainly beats Merlin grey ;)

A lot of people will probably just assume that they are one coaster now! This new kind of coaster with one sit down and one inverted car! How amazing!

Agreed that it is an improvement but also agreed that perhaps something else might have been more distinctive/even better.

No, you're wrong. It's the pigmentation of the paint is affecting the refraction of the light, thus causing the wheel assembly to vibrate exactly 1.4 times faster than when it was red/white. But it's still a new cred. Definitely.

Re: Fantasy Island (UK) Updates

Word is that the Millennium Coaster is getting a new colour scheme too.

Oh, and also, some potentially good news.... They're going to be expanding the ride area by The Odyssey. They've already removed all the market stalls and taken down the entrance arch (which was next to the Odyssey's station). Apparently the Mouse coaster is going down there, along with a few smaller rides, making way for a new ride in 2017 up the other end of the park....

Re: Fantasy Island (UK) Updates

So have they completely got rid of the market? If so, that's fantastic, hopefully the park will look a lot more professional with all these improvements and upgrades.

Re: Fantasy Island (UK) Updates

Sorry that's my bad. They've removed the market stalls from around the Odyssey's station area. The main market is stil there I'm afraid.

Re: Fantasy Island (UK) Updates

I'm glad I already got the creds because that really isn't good news.

Re: Fantasy Island (UK) Updates

^Doesn't that kinda depend on who buys it?
I mean sure, it's bad news if some housing development company buys it, but what if, say, Universal or Six Flags buy it?
That'd be frickin' awesome news! Unlikely, yes, but you never know...

Re: Fantasy Island (UK) Updates

Yeah, it's will anyone buy it for the rides? Or will it sit for years rotting...?

Re: Fantasy Island (UK) Updates

Someone might buy it to ship out the rides to their own other park, like Flamingo or something? Who knows.

The big coasters would be nice additions to some of the smaller parks although they would need quite a bit of space.

Re: Fantasy Island (UK) Updates

Well, this is England, so we can't ignore the possibility of it sitting there rotting in a Camelot stylee... but let's be positive. Let's hope that it gets a buyer who invests a bit of cash and effort into bringing it back to life. At the very least, let's hope the rides stay in the UK and don't get shipped off to frickin' China.

Re: Fantasy Island (UK) Updates

Maybe Butlins will buy it and expand their own funfair selection? :p

Re: Fantasy Island (UK) Updates

Well the rumours about moving the Mouse coaster to the other side of the park turned out to be true:

Odyssey is looking pretty badass too.

Now we await something new....

Re: Fantasy Island (UK) Updates

Odyssey is looking good, also looks like they're enclosing the station:
