Is Vekoma usually credited for Space Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain at Magic Kingdom? RCDB just lists Disney as the manufacturer, but Jarrett has them listed under Vekoma. (If they are Vekoma, they'd fit into my list between Everest and Rock n Rollercoaster).

Anyway, just noticed the "steel" in the title so I'll have to remove Balder. I've only ridden 5 intamin coaster including Balder, so I have nothing to replace it with... I really need to ride more coasters. Can't wait for the next season.

^ Any reason why you rank Goliath over Expedition GeForce? Is it because of the stengel dive? Or did you get a better ride on it? Just interested, because while I love both, I found EGF to be better in pretty much every way. Goliath has the stengel dive going for it, but I personally find a better first drop and two more airtime hills preferable to the stengel dive. And I'm not a big fan of those long rattly helices of Goliath.

I first rode it in 2006 and loved it, but I hadn't done much back then. I then did EGF in 2009 after doing more, and was really disappointed. The drop is good but all the hills lacked airtime.

I then redid Goliath in 2012, thinking I'd be really disappointed, but it's just packed with ejector. The first hill is one of my favourite hills in the World, and the rest of the ride just hauls.

EGF seems to divide opinion - it seems I caught it in an off period and it has gotten better, so maybe I'd prefer it now, but, as it stands, it's just "good" whilst Goliath is "excellent".

I'm the same with Bizarro, that was meh - Goliath is far and above my favourite Intamin Mega.

Interesting. I think that's one of the biggest weaknesses of Intamin Mega Coasters (Maybe B&M hypers as well, but I wouldn't know because I've only ridden Silver Star on two consecutive days). They are really inconsistent. I've ridden Goliath over many days the past years, and the rides have ranged from absolutely excellent to a bit lacklustre. At times it almost stalled at the first hill, while other times I got ridiculous ejector. I've only ridden EGF on one very warm day, and it rode like Goliath's best days, only with a better first drop and more hills. I guess if I'd re-ride it on a worse day my opinion could change.

I'd definitely agree with the first hill though. On its best days, that is probably my favourite hill too. It gives a surreal feeling where the entire world/horizon seems to just tilt while getting thrown out of your seat. I didn't get that as much with EGF's first hill. Could the reason be that Goliath's first hill is steeper?

Does look that way, but it could also have to do with the angle.

But when it comes to ranking Intamin mega coasters, it really depends on if you catch it on a good day. I just feel that if you catch both goliath and EGF on a good day, EGF just has more going for it layout-wise.
