The slimness of that car makes me think either Ferrari have done something VERY different with their engine to the other two (remember we've seen pictures of the Renault and Mercedes but nothing of the Ferrari) or the car will blow up every 5 minutes.
The sidepods are TINY compared with everything we've seen so far, it's really interesting. We'll have to wait and see what Red Bull go for.

Cannot wait to see the merc. Their front susspension is meant to be totally different to anything out there as is the front end.
No idea what's true or not though.
I like the Ferrari from the side and that low down shot. Just hope they don't have the same problem Sauber has by going narrow on the side pods.
It really is a step into the unknown.
I would not judge the lotus car as to save money they are meant to have used last years tub.

Sorry meant the 2013 Sauber. They went really narrow and that's what they think caused some of their problems.
The side pods form part of the crash structure and Sauber found a way to get the same strength going narrow so they could have passed this on.
Bit shocked they have all kept the air boxes but maybe this is part of the regs.

Tiny tiny sidepods. I'm convinced there's something strange and wonderful about the Ferrari engine. We will have to wait and see if Marussia has abnormally tiny sidepods too. If it does the weight saved on smaller cooling systems like the sidepods and their air intakes can be used usefully elsewhere.
Being smaller also allows them to flow air around them onto the diffuser. Also interesting that the two Ferrari powered teams to launch have gone on about reliability and the Mercedes/Renault people power. Makes me think the Ferrari won't be as powerful but will be much more reliable.

It was said months ago they recon Ferrari were quite a way down on power but no one knows.
The Sauber was also narrow last year so they have probably past on how they achieved this. It's all to do with the crash structure.
Alonso won his two championships by being reliable and not having the fastest car.

The 2006 Renault was the best car. But when the Michelins were found to be illegal (again, this happened in 2003 as well), the Ferrari was the best for the last 4 races. Schumacher then lost out for rare mechanical problems.
In 2005 (on said rule-bending Michelins) the McLaren was indeed the better car and Kimi lost out because of it. I need to go and refind the report about Ferrari testing their 2005 car on the 2005 Michelins in 2008 and either Badoer or Gene set a lap time over a second faster than Schumacher managed with the same car on Bridgestone tyres at Imola during the season. So technically, the Ferrari was the best car in 2005 lol

Apparently the Ferrari side pods are no thinner than last year it's just the camera angles.
Renault have said they won't be taking any risks at the start with their engines.
I do hope we don't get no cars pushing for half a year.
The str car is nice until you get to the silly nose
and such a tight rear end. The side pods are tiny.
