Oh wow, the rumours make complete sense now. I love this park and am pleased to see it rise again. With four Euro Fighters in the UK, there's also less incentive for Thorpe to keep hold of Saw any longer than they need to.
Agreed, it would be great for me being 20 mins down the road (I could probably see it from my house accross the bay on a good day/with a telescope) but I just don't see it happening anytime soon/at all.
Not exactly a long trek for me either, but I've been fed up of Eurofighters for at least 15 years now. Make it one of their fab little launch coasters and we'll talk.
I apologise for bringing this thread back up with a non-update, but has literally anything happened with this ride - land clearing, planning permissions, teasing? I suspect more would happen in the off season when it comes around but surely there would be some groundwork starting up by now if this was going to be a project happening anytime soon?
Rage at Southend keeps breaking down lately (August and July this year, and October last year), so who knows, it might possibly have put them off? I'm not saying it's a huge deal, but it's a pain in the neck if you get stuck on one of those vertical lift hills.
On the other hand, Adventure Island might be getting rid of theirs and maybe Pleasureland could pick it up extremely cheap? Probably nothing to do with it, but I just had some thoughts on the matter. If they're getting that type of ride I'd definitely rather have a launch or a 45-degree lift.
Gerstlauer's also got no less than five new coaster projects currently on the go right now in Europe and they're all major (six if we count Palindrome), I can imagine they might've neared production capacity for 2025.
