Heide Park Removes Water Ride - What's Next?

Heide Park has begun what looks like the demolition of their "Märchenfahrt" water ride and that is pretty much all we know at the moment. It could also just be a renovation though, but I think it's more likely that it's being torn down to make space for a new ride. The sign they've put up also indicates that whatever the new development is, it's going to be a part of their "Wild Wild West" themed land.

I would personally like to see either a Family Coaster, Dark Ride or perhaps a new flume/water ride take it's place.

loosely translated, the sign says:
"Here something is happening!
We are building new exceptional adventures for the 2016 season for you.
Please excuse , if it should be a bit noisy or dusty"

Heide does lack dark rides...

Both rides are closed until the end of the season, according to this article.

Heide Park says they are working an "extraordinary new adventures". Well...

It's needs to be a thrill ride. Dark rides are completely and utterly overrated. They're great first time around, but ride after ride they become non eventful. The great thing with a thrill ride is that it will constantly provide 'thrills'.

Thrill dark ride, yes. Dull, mundane, Disneyesque dark rides can **** right off.

I can't imagine it'll be anything amazing, just because of how late they've left to start it.

I'd especially say not a dark ride, look how far along Thorpe's is now.

I'd go with some sort of flat ride tbh.

This is what it roughly says on that webpage:

"Meet Hiccup and Toothless
How Train Your Dragon - The Island takes you into the world of dragons and Vikings.
Look forward to a new land based on the cinema success of DreamWorks' "How to Train Your Dragon". Planned are a total of four rides for children from three to ten years and their families, personal meetings with Toothless and elaborate theming of the land."

I've seen some HTTYD themed rides in RCT3, and I have high expectations for what it'll look like. I hope they add a coaster(or two), as the ones in RCT3 I saw were really well themed. Granted, they probably won't build a mountain, but I can still see a highly themed family coaster. Maybe an SFC or even a family boomerang ala Paultons?

Don't expect any new coasters.

I agree that the HTTYD theme has a lot of potential, but I doubt Heide Park will exploit it.

Yeah, what? It's a fairly small space, I expect maybe a few flats for kids.

Drachenzähmen - Die Insel is coming along nicely. Never seen the films but the scenery so far looks great for a kids area.

Doesn't look as bad as i thought it would but there's still plenty of time to have a change of heart.

Not a massive fan of PLONKED IP's in parks, but, this is quite a fab IP and I'm sure they'll do it justice.

Loving this area so far! Few more pictures here:

Love the last picture with Colossus in the background. My 2 favourite things (Dragons and coasters) in one shot!
