I know its not for everyone, but I like blood, gore, and shocking... And, I'd also like to point out another film I love is Ju On: The Grudge, THE ORIGINAL version, Japanese, and truly creepy.

Haven't you pointed that out in a few posts already? Looking back, it seems you may be on commission for putting the name of the film down.

See, this is what bothers me the most. Like, most people have only heard of The Grudge because of the American re-make, which is fine, awareness for Asian horror etc, but then people act like that's not the reason and act like they're 'really into' world cinema, when actually they've just seen all the obvious ones.

And if you like shock horror and Asian cinema, I suggest you watch Dumplings. Yet another contender for 'most controversial film ever'.

This topic has actually helped me in finding them oh-so controversial films. I do appreciate all the posts about said films. :--D

Yeah, but everyone was going on about A Serbian Film... :L
All I know is Paranormal Entity is a terrible film... :L
And, I actually saw the original one first, then the remake, and I never thought much of the remake...
I'm not sure if I put it on here, but A Tale Of Two Sisters is also a great film... I bought it without realising it was the original The Uninvited, but it was still enjoyable...

Controversial.

Is it bad that not being able to vote here (read the choices carefully...) was irritating me to the extent that I've just sat through a 15th?
On the plus side, I rather liked the Fly...

Cronengberg FTW!

Now, go see Dead ringers, you'll adore it! :)

^
Yeah, while I'm loathed to admit it due to the dispute in the other topic, I added 3 or 4 more of his filmography to my lovefilm list last night - but they nearly all had the sort of 'obscure title: long wait' warnings, so it might be a while before I'm up to speed... :(

eXistenz was on the "Watch Now" PS3 thing and it's considerably better than Inception... Though that may just be because everything* Jude Law is in is is fabulous.

*Not AI, nothing was saving that, but Jude Law is fab in it.

^I'm writing my dissertation on Cronenberg <3 Existenz is very.........odd. The game pod things are so weird and the port things look like......bumholes XD I love him though, everything he makes is so....deep.

Dead Ringers is so strange too (but amazing). The Fly is still my favourite then hehe =]

But it's not on there anymore :(
I just looked - I can never find anything I want on that >:C

Horror is such a loose genre. I'd class about 1/4 of those films as sci-fi and about half as thrillers. I guess it's up to individual interpretation.

I've seen 21 from that list.

21? Not bad...
I think you can't be too pedantic with horror films, and trying to group them... Because you have torture porns, like Hostel, or Saw, and revenge films, and ghosts, and etc...
