Intamin Gyro Swing coming to Blackpool Pleasure Beach?

Am I the only person on the planet that thinks these are all boring? Sure Loki was the best of this type of ride that I've ridden... But it's still just a spinning swing. 🙈 😂

Some of the comments in here, and excitement levels, are making me question my own sanity... Have I completely missed something about these rides? I pretty much always skip anything like this. And they never seem to have a queue either.
I cant say this would have been my first choice either, however on the back of recent years and 3 additional closed rides and ludicrous capacity cuts this year I will take just about any investment at this stage.

I give it 3 years before it's down to one operator to check and recheck each seat, and loading can only begin once everyone is off the ride and at least 100ft away from the exit gate.

Three years? That's optimistic

I like the sound of this ride - a hell of a lot better than Ice Blast (as us lot call it)

Won't exactly fit the area, but that's never really been a Blackpool concern

Any version of these rides are great, possibly my favourite flat ride type. But I much prefer coasters, dark, water and even transport rides. Flats are the first to skip when there's lots to do. Will now look out for lap bar only ones.

Love a good gyro swing, me. I approve. From what I understand, these things come in a range of sizes. Any indication of whether or not we're getting a big'un?

Think there's two model sizes as far as I'm aware. One that's the same size as Maelstrom at Drayton and a larger model.

I've never really liked flat rides, always thought they're boring until I rode Loke 😍

Out of the modern version Gyro Swings Tigeren is 45m at full swing, Swingi and Loke are 42m and Goliath is 26m (according to Intamin website) so unless there's an in-between size I have to assume it's the Swingi/Loke size and not the smol version from Adventure World

Aren't these just like Crazanity at SFMM? Or Wonder Woman at SFDK?

I know those are Zamperla, but aren't they pretty much the exact same ride?
Thats the thing. They're not.

The Zamperla ones take ages to get going and dont have the motors activley 'forcing' the swings like the Intamins.

Compare: This video has a 10 second intro, and the ride is reaching full height at 0:50....40 seconds to reach full height from a standing start.

Now, this video has an 8 second intro, but even then, at 58 seconds, the Zamperla has barely gotten to 45 degrees yet.

Don't question your sanity, I'm in your boat...lap bar or shoulder bar...motors actively forcing the swing or not...

This is still a spinning swing, and for me, ride it once and you never really need to ride it again...

UK theme parks Facebook page are reported working currently on the Iceblast ride. It's not clear from their pictures if it's removal or actual maintenance but activities are taking place.

Glad to see BPB getting something new, I really enjoyed Loke at Liseberg - and I'm not normally that interested in flat rides. It's probably not enough to draw me back any time soon, although maybe I'll combine it with some other trip.
