Kingda Ka and Green Lantern's removal for new 2026 record-breaking coaster

Looking at Google Maps, the tower is actually quite far from anything else, so we don't need to worry about the nightmarish idea of Kingda Ka coming crashing down into El Toro!

The loss of this ride makes me incredibly sad, usually "got the cred" would make me feel fine about it being demolished, but that's not the case here. I'm a mechanical engineer and the engineering aspects of coasters has always been a huge part of what makes them interesting to me. I don't think there has ever been a ride built that is more impressive from an engineering and construction point of view than Ka, especially with Zumanjaro sharing the same structure. The ride experience was truly extreme, ok it's not a serious contender for my top ten (or even top 25 really), but sitting ready to launch, looking at the distant apex of the tower and knowing that I would be up there is just a few seconds is something I will never forget. An absolutely amazing machine, RIP.

Looks like it's just the lift, drop and loop left now, maybe they need different equipment to bring down these tallest bits.

That could well be the case indeed, they might also be scared that it falls into Superman when they would just make it topple.
