Major Changes for Disney's California Adventure

The World of Color show is officially debuting on the 11th of June 2010. Check the link below for details and a short preview video.

There’s also a video on YouTube about Pixar’s involvement with the World of Color, including some footage from testing earlier this year:

Well the World Of Color previews and final testing seems to be going really well.

Here is an amazing video showing off just some of what these things will be doing.

I am genuinely stunned... :)

I didn't think we would be going back to California for about 5 years at least... This is yet another thing that has amped up my wanting to go back :)

I do wonder about people who don't think that looks amazing...

I'm insanely jealous of my parents who will be going there this year... :(

It does look amazing, I am also pleased that it is different enough from Fantasmic.

I would love to go back to the park as I did like it there, just need to hang on a bit for the new attractions to open. The park is going to look so different to when we were last there.

Im jealous of your parents too!

Although, I think I am going to hold off just a little for Ariel and Cars Land to be finished before I book anything...

^Was about to post it after watching, dammit I keep getting ninja'd atm

But here's the quick youtube link anyways...

Click link for the final 2 parts...

God it wants so damn much...

^Cheers Benin for posting the link, I could not get it due to work blocking things.

It got rave reviews from just about everyone there, if you dont like shows etc you are never going to like it.

This looks absolutely AMAZING! I think Disney has a gem on their hands I really do.

Exactly what I was going to say, pretty much.

It looks simply stunning and soemthing I will definitely make a point of seeing when I get back there. I also love the fact they have taken something so simple like a water fountain and done something beautifully magical with it, in a way only Disney can.

Oh, and cheers Benin for the link!!!!

RIGHTEOUS! RIGHTEOUS! Indeed!

Wow. Seriously wasn't expecting it to look anywhere near that good, especially the projections onto the water. I imagine it looms even better in the flesh!

look at this report it looks so good!!
If you guys don't mind, I'll post it here so it's easier to view...

Just got back from the World of Color media event. It's late so my words will be short. All I can say is this - the photos and video (complete video of the show, BTW) below are a VERY GOOD "teaser" and representation of what the show is like. If you think what you see in these photos and video looks cool, you need to see World of Color NOW! If the photos and the video of the show don't thrill you, then I'd suggest checking out Tower of Terror or Space Mountain instead!

Enjoy!

Please note! This video is 30 minutes long and may take a while to stream, but it is in HD and I feel gives you a VERY good idea of what the show is like:

Disney calls this my "credentials"...I call it my ticket to cool stuff!

world_of_color_02.jpg

I believe I should follow that arrow!

world_of_color_03.jpg

The red carpet, for one night only, is really the blue carpet!

world_of_color_04.jpg

Holy crap that monster is HUGE!

world_of_color_05.jpg

The amount of cameras and lighting they had set up was impressive...ooh...I think the "celebs" are about to pop out now...

world_of_color_06.jpg

Richard Sherman of "The Sherman Bros." - He and his brother wrote the theme song to "World of Color." <br> Random Robb Alvey story - About 15 years ago I was working on a video game based on "The Jungle Book" and these guys wrote the music for that. We had them come down to our studio and tell our animators stories about what it was like to work with Walt Disney. We ended up at a restaurant with them later that evening and they would break into song at random and have a sing-a-lot with the group. It was quite cool. <end>

Woody and Buzz kick off the Pixar part of the show...

Really? Not in the full show (on youtube) I saw. First up was Finding Nemo (Squirt & Crush riding the EAC followed by Dorey & Marlon talking Whale) and then Wall.E (Wall.E & Eve get all space dancey) and then Toy Story.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eqijf6DZz4s

:p:p:p

Still, a very colourful report. Thanks.

Yes, it appears that I was wrong about the order...thank you for correcting me. Silly me, and it's even in the program guide they handed out for the event. I really should have paid more attention when I was writing that report at 3am. My bad. Again, thanks for the correction.
