Google Earth has updated Satellite images from mid-January, so you can really see the scale of the construction.
I think I've been on a public holiday before - it was certainly a day showing as 90% busy on crowd calendars, and it really wasn't too bad. If you make use of Fastpasses (or whatever they're called now), single rider lines, etc. and are happy criss-crossing the park and walking a ton, then I've never found DisneySEA to be all that difficult. The only thing I've never bothered with is Toy Story Mania because it gets crazy lines, I've done it elsewhere and it's just not very good.Looks incredible. I'm going to be in Japan in September but the only day i have free to visit is a bank holiday which i imagine would involve 3+ hour queues for every attraction, don't think i can face it.

That said, I could well imagine people going mental for the new land...
You used to get them free from the distribution machines. I understand now that you buy them individually in the app, but I think there may be one free one you can get. I was supposed to go last week so I'd have figured the new system out then, but my friend hurt his back so we didn't go on the end! Thanks. From what i can see you can no loner buy fast passes in advance, you have to buy them as one shots whilst in the park via the app?
If that's the case i'll probably make a decision when i'm in Japan and scope out how the queue times look once the new area opens.
