What's new

New attractions at Paultons Park

The Go Karts area does seem to be a perfect location for a clone of Viking Voyage at Emerald Park.

That's the ideal form for a water ride, in my opinion (even though I'm not that keen on them). That and Splash Mountain. A couple of drops and a central structure that could hold a few animatronics - perfect. Personally, I'd cut out the backwards drop and have a very thin splash, but that's just me.

For Halloween Paultons are releasing a video on Ghostly Manor at 7pm. 👻

On Ghostly Manors website (here) you can soon enter a compilation to win tickets.

Also RCDB have Cobra as closing.

On the park availability page it has maintenance period scheduled the from 8th September 2025 until at least 30th April 2026 so i hope it's just closed while they work on it before opening the new land with it in.

Sounds like RCDB seem to be jumping to conclusions a bit. The park haven't said anything about a permanent closure.

It's most likely some sort of retheme.

RCDB haven't mentioned anything about a permanent closure either?
Those closure notices typically indicate a closure date once a ride is announced to close permanently or for a extended closure like with the Scooby Doo Wild Mouse in Warner Bros Movie World in Australia.

It's rather unusual for this sort of notice to show for a closure that will last a winter season.

True, but I guess because it's closing in late summer and not the end of the season, that's probably why.

They are going off Paultons website that says it will be closed from that date for maintenance (probably due to being rethemed for the new land)

Also here is a look at the sites, art has gone up on the walls around the construction site for the Viking area and more land clearing is taking place.

Fantastic, thanks Niles. The logo is upside-down on one gate and there's huge emphasis on the "forge". If this doesn't have inversions I'd be absolutely amazed. I wonder if the banners and shields have other clues...

Regarding Cobra, as others have said, it's sure to be rethemed. We can be certain no one will be able to ride "Cobra" after September 2025. Not meaning to be pedantic, it's just how I think RCDB is so certain that the ride - as it is - will be closing.

The image of the gate with the metal bars over the wooden stakes is giving me Junior RMC or GCI Titan vibes. Imagine max 100ft tall with a single barrel role, would be easy to theme to Vikings as well.

If you’ve seen the latest PP video from TPWW it really shows the scale of the plot of land where the go carts track was and how much ground work has already been completed. Can see a junior woody easily fitting into this section.

I don't think the wooden aesthetic necessarily screams woodie to me - it's authentic to the viking theme and the longships they had.

A woodie would be fantastic however I wouldn't be disappointed if it came later instead.

I'm completely with Graeme on this one and I'd be shocked if the new coaster has no inversion(s) whatsoever with all of the foreshadowing going on at the event and the construction walls.

I think Chris and Coaster Cam are right though in the way the metal rails run across the wooden poles. It's one of those clues you can miss if you're too busy looking at the smaller details (like I was). I think after these hints, GCI hybrid with Titan Track has to be the No.1 bet.

I found a really good YouTube channel for Paultons updates and speculation. I'm not sure if we've covered it in this thread (or if it's in this specific video), but he says Dragon Roundabout is off to Hayling Island:

Also, I was looking at the opening hours, and the only month the park's totally closed is January, so there will hopefully be a lot more to come.

yes this channel is brilliant for paultons updates found it before, seems he has a lot of connections with ride ops from other theme parks.

Considering this is my closest park and the one i grew up with im super excited, if you had shown me the park now back in 2014 i would never have believed it, let alone what it will be like for 2026.

If they were to get a new coaster in 2026 that gives them 8, even though so far they are family focused thats a crazy amount for any park, in fact (correct me if im wrong) Paultons have the most costers on earth in a park without having an "extreme" (RCDB definition) one, so while they could add a family cred surely what ever it is it's going to be "extreme".

This claim astounded me.

I did some digging and it looks like you're right. Closest I've found is Sun Park, which has 6 operating and 2 SBNO coasters: https://rcdb.com/5252.htm (so at one point, did have more)

I noticed as well that Djurs Sommerland have 8 coasters, 1 of which is listed as Extreme. That is certainly an excellent park for Paultons to model themselves off of if they so chose to, and it works nicely.
