New ride for London Dungeons

Just been announced on he London Dungeons Facebook page that they are getting a new 5D ride this year.

Yes the rumours are true, we will be launching our new 5D ride later on this year, we'll be announcing more details soon so watch this space!

Not sure where it'll go as they don't have room to expand so will have to get rid of an old scene to make space. I hope it's one of the Jack the ripper sections as that goes on for ages so it'll be nice to have that shortened a bit and this added in.

I am sure 5D is what Sipderman is, or maybe they are pushing the boat out and getting what Universal got for Harry Potter? Somehow doubt that though.

Maybe they will remove the water ride which is a bit pointless.

Oh right, well that could be interesting. Spiderman does kick major ass, so this could be promising.

It'll more likely be one of these...

It'd fit in a smaller space and can have a run time of about 7 minutes which seems about right for a scene in the Dungeons. Just hope it fits in with an actual story from Londons history and has lots of effects.
Looks fun though if it is that.

Yeah, as Ollie has said. It will more then likely be something similair to Alterface's magnificent "The House" attraction.

It is classified as a 5D Attraction, I am sure it could be developed and changed from the Silent Movie story line that it generically comes with. I've read a few reviews and things online saying how good the actual ride is.

Here's a link to the actual ride page on Alterface's website: Click Here

I have to admit, I am slightly skeptical about whether the lasers are going to work in an attraction like The Dungeons. The Dungeons set themselves up as a "Horrible History" Attraction if you will. So I don't understand how lasers are going to keep into this theme. But hey, maybe they will make it work. Somehow?

So 5D is basically 4D but with laser guns, which makes it interactive.

Any addition is good for the London Dungeons though as it can be boring doing the same thing and knowing whats coming next

I agree though Joey this sounds a bit far fetched and off the realism path which the Dungeons have always stuck to.

Shooting Jack the Ripper with laser guns would be quite silly

I, personally, don't think that The Dungeons are that stupid to just add a laser gun to a ride and think it will work. Put it in this context; I saw a while back, I cannot remember where to save my life, there was a company creating new types of laser guns to fit different themes. The ones they mentioned were Crossbow style guns and shotgun guns. Surely The Dungeons would be clever enough to theme the guns instead of the generic, run of the mill, plastic crap guns that are seen in most 4D/5D Attractions?

Also, if anybody knows what I am reffering to or the company, it would be very much appreciated as my brain is in overdrive trying to find the goddam' things.

It may have been yeah. Thing is, Sally Corp is probably a high possibility of NOT HAPPENING. Industry specialists are talking and the one company that is being mentioned again and again is Alterface.

I think it was Sally Corp. at IAAPA... can't really remember though. Just know they had some sort of interactive thing which was pretty cutting edge.

Sally have been hinting for years that they would do something interesting with the guns on their rides. I think they were supposed to make interesting ones for Terra Mitica, but they don't look that amazing. That was a while ago now though.

The ride is called Vengeance and will be the UK’s First 5D Ride.

Guests will be transported to a séance set in Victorian times at 50 Berkeley Square, alleged to be the most haunted house in London at the time. Here riders will come face to face with one of the most famous and feared mediums of the age, Florence Cook, who will take them on the ultimate ghost hunt in a high octane battle of skill, speed and nerve.

Full details about the ride can be read HERE!!!

I have kind of changed my mind. They've done a re-theme of the original story line. This makes sense and could actually fit in well with the theme. I'm looking forward to it!

I'm intrigued about this. I echo herbinator's question of whether this will replace something already in the attraction. I kinda hope not.
