What's new

New rides @ small parks

Unfortunately, it appears Ghostrider's MCBR is returning:-
At least they'll be able to add a 3rd train on the ride again.
This thing has had 2+ hour queues nonstop since it reopened. They won't have a third train, but hopefully they can actually cut the wait down because it is nowhere near a 2 hour wait ride. Never was.

Fort Fun Abenteuerland will open Germany's first Zamperla Air Race next year - Die Thunderbirds.

A loud thunder rumble sounds and fiery flashes tear a hole in the cloud front. But it is not a thunderstorm approaching, it is the wings of the mighty Thunderbirds that produce this sound, and the lightning fires from their eyes. With a mere thump of their powerful wings, they are able to ignite whole storms. In Indian mythology, the Thunderbirds are the rulers of the sky world. It is said that one should not anger the wrathful creatures, but that a select few should be able to connect with them and rule the heavens together.

Visitors can look forward to a truly extraordinary driving experience, and find out if they are perhaps the chosen ones with whom the Thunderbirds want to dominate the thunderstorms. The ride with eight arms, each with a gondola for two people, puts its guests in the air with an acceleration of up to 3G. Each of the eight gondolas represents a mighty Thunderbird. Since these birds like to fly clockwise and counterclockwise through storms and thunderstorms, they can be quite challenging, so they do not lose their orientation. The Thunderbirds are not easy to conquer. But maybe they are willing to give the brave visitor a great ride through the skies. This spectacle, accompanied by a rumbling soundtrack, is not only exciting for the flying guests, but also those who prefer to watch from the outside, as the thunder birds perform true aerobatics. The Air Race combines special driving pleasure with an extra thrill factor, something that the Italian manufacturer Zamperla stands for, as well as the special ability to breathe life into the attractions.

However, the new ride is not the only thing visitors can expect at FORT FUN from May 2019 on, resulting in a new Indian theme area, the Indian Valley. "The American continent and its history are the theme of our park, but in recent years our visitors have been able to discover very little about the aborigines, and we want to change that," explains Managing Director Andreas Sievering. "The Thunderbirds will find their place right in the middle of the park, between the Dark Raver and the WILD EAGLE, both of which are attractions designed around Native American myths," continues Sievering. "The entire area now has a central focus, making it much more attractive to our guests." At a cost of around € 1 million, this is the largest investment in a new attraction in over ten years. "It is important to us to preserve our classics and the charm of the park, which is proven by the investments made in recent years. But now it was just time for a great new novelty for our guests, "says a delighted Sievering.

Since May 2017 the FORT FUN Abenteuerland belongs to the Looping Group. Already in the first years of ownership, the group has invested a lot in the park and its infrastructure. For example, this year the entire western town has been renovated. It is important for the Group to first invest in the existing infrastructure of its parks and to optimize these and then to expand the offer to suit the target group. Now, after a good two years of renovation, the guests and employees of the FORT FUN can look forward to the first big new attraction.

Back to GhostRider - it seems the new midcourse has been installed but is not actually slowing the trains down, at least in this video
Thank god.

Can the mid-course really stop the train with only 3 pairs of brakes?
Yeah, I reckon it could. Those friction brakes are insanely powerful (look at how they stop a Wild Mouse car), and the train isn't going that fast through that corner.

I'd be interested to see how slowly it takes the rest of the layout if it did stop though, haha!

It is, was told that by the ride op himself. Plus check my video description and the RCDB listing for both Dragon Challenge and Beastie.....

It's likely that red Chance coaster whose track was spotted heading down the interstate.
Highly doubtful.

It could be! If Casino Pier could afford one, then I'd imagine Clacton Pier could!
This isn't Clacton Pier, this is Clarence Pier, near Portsmouth. ;)
Either way, you're being incredibly optimistic if you think any Pier in the UK draws enough visitors to warrant them investing in something like a Eurofighter. It'll almost certainly be something second hand and pretty **** I'm sure.
