What's new

New Spinning Cred for GYPB

I was actually planning on visiting the park for 2013 (for the first time) so it will be interesting to see the new investment. The proposed Casino complex also sounds interesting but is quite a large scheme that could take some time to get built, if at all.

Still, it is great to see smaller parks like the Pleasure Beach invest in new attractions and facilities.
The coaster sounds good but I doubt it will be anything that speciel.

Wouldn't surprise me if they got Whirlwind on the cheap. Whatever it is, I'm praying I've been on it already.

They're going to have to do something with the actual amusement park for when this casino complex opens. Sounds like it's going to be on the posh side, with a fancy hotel and other stuff, yet it's got a tacky fair ground on the side of it... Hopefully this coaster is going to be the start of better things to come, because lets face it, it's a hole.

If it's not Whirlwind, I wouldn't be surprised if it was one of these...

The footprint is a lot smaller and there seem to be more and more of them appearing. Unforch.

Bayside in Bridlington change their lineup quite often. Maybe Yarmouth are renting this one for a while (it's owned by M&Ds)- http://rcdb.com/10487.htm

They mention £300,000 but I guess that doesn't really mean anything with regards to buying/renting.

I can't see GYPB looking abroad for a ride, so it's surely going to be either Whirlwind, a Reverchon, or the M&D's Fabbri spinner. Which I suppose could be a high possibly, it was only rented to Bayside, so you never know.

That article also mentions that there are plans to remove the Log Flume (or it already has been removed...) "His vision is to replace the park’s log flume lake with a large indoor attraction ". Yeah, the water was GROSS, most disgusting ride water I have ever seen, but it's UK's only triple drop log flume!

The Log Flume is hideous! I was genuinely shocked when I got a mouthful of sea water. It looks **** ugly too.

I always thought that Log Flume had so much potential. I don't know how good the ride experience itself was but in terms of theming it could have been awesome. From observation it looks like the manufacturer had originally intended for the steel exo skeleton that supports the lifthill and drop to be used as some kind of structure. Sadly it seems GYPB missed an opportunity and left it bare and empty.

Shame.

GYPB have confirmed that the new coaster isn't Whirlwind. My money would defo be on Jake's suggestion, the M&D's spinner.

Just checked RCDB again and Bayside have got rid of the spinner:

So yeah, looks like I was right...

Still don't know where the £300,000 figure comes from though... I'm sure the cred is actually 'worth' more than tha6 (as in, how much cost to start with), so maybe they're buying it from M&Ds on the cheap, cus I can't imagine it would cost that much to rent. But then we don't know how long they might be renting it for. Meh.

The Reverchon spinners were around £750,000 brand new, so with that in mind, £300,000 for a second hand smaller model seems a bit much.

Meh, time will tell.

Well I won't be rushing back in a hurry, however it's great that they're getting a new ride finally, also wishing it was Whirlwind, but I have high hopes for Pleasurewood getting that :p #PWHFanBoy

I was near GYPB yesterday, so I had to go have a look!

That's all I got really, looks pretty small. But I also spotted this:

Which pretty much confirms that it'll be a Fabbri Spinner.
