Off-the-shelf well themed flat rides

We all know that some park chains can take a basic flat/trill ride and theme it superbly.

Whilst digging around to increase my goon knowledge, I stumbled across Moser's Rides "Adventure Ride" model, which comes themed with an octopus moving a boat with his tentacles. It looks fab.

Then I remembered the "King Kong" ride by Huss that I rode at Bobbejaanland in July, which also looks fab, but was dull to ride.

Can you think of any other off-the-shelf thrill rides that come with automatically amazing themeing? This could be my new obsession.

^^ Dollywood's flats don't have theming built into the ride however - that was added after the fact.

What about River Battles? Dollywood has one of those as well that is superbly themed (Silver Dollar City as well), but by their essence they are built over a pool with the sole purpose of throwing a lot of water around. Fun atmosphere.

If you can't count the Giant Barn Swing at Silver Dollar City, then my next best thing would be the Wave Swinger at Navy Pier, which has paintings of scenes of Old and New Chicago on the panels.

Saw this one at Adventure Island yesterday, it's the best-themed one of those rides I've ever seen:

It also had a crap joke on the ride-op booth... :D

Talocan - the top spin at Phantasialand is amazingly themed too.

I quite like the theming of Polly Drop at Adventure Wonderland.

Can't find out the manufacturer of it though so can't tell if it's customised or not. I doubt it's customised as AW is the sort of park that would buy off the shelf.

I'm a bit confused. Or maybe I'm not and everyone else is which, let's face it, is far more likely.

I'm pretty sure he's asking about rides that come ready-themed as standard, not for examples of well-themed flat rides. It's not the same thing. Sure, it's probably the ride manufacturers who will custom theme a ride for a customer, but it's definitely not "off-the-shelf".

Yes, exactly. Both of the examples I posted in the opening post are themed as they are by the manufacturer.

Ohhhhhhhh  I though 'off-the-shelf' meant generic flats that you see everywhere, didn't even realise they can come ready-themed!

This is fab.

Ok, so it's not-off-the-shelf, but I love the theme.

^FYI - Talocan is not -off-the-shelf.

Dunno who makes these, but they are funny.

It LOOKS like a standard Zierer Wave Swinger, but I could be wrong.
It also looks like a standard Zamperla Wave Swinger, but not all are off-the-shelf. Both companies specialize in themeing their standard wave swingers to a park's wishes.

I'm confused. Are you saying that the drunk turtle is not off-the-shelf because it's not offered by the original manufacturer? Is there a third party designer involved then? You must be able to buy it somewhere beacuse several are in existence, including at Adventure Island and BonBon Land

Sorry, guess I didn't phrase that properly. The drunk turtle is off-the-shelf, regardless if it's a Zierer or Zamperla, but both companies also design and build specially themed wave swingers according to a park's wishes. So not every themed wave swinger by either company is necessarily off-the-shelf. I do know that Zierer also offers a mushroom themed off-the-shelf wave swinger, but they also supplied a custom themed one to Gilroy Gardens. Of course, almost every ride at Gilroy Gardens is custom themed.
