What's new

Opinions on Six Flags America?

Apart from the whole no shade thing I genuinely didn't find the park that bad. Joker's Jinx was awesome, Superman was a solid 'good' ride with some fun airtime, throw in some other unique/classic stuff and I think it's a pretty decent place overall. I'd definitely revisit, I've been to many worse parks.

I live 45 minutes from the park and I haven't even bothered going, with a season pass, and free parking. THAT should tell you something...

That you're an idiot?
Seriously, how do you know if a park is bad/good if you've never been?

SFAm. definitely isn't the worst park in the world.
Sure, Superman isn't the best Intamin, but it sure beats the crap out of a lot of coasters out there. You then have some fairly decent coasters in Batwing, Joker's Jynx and Wild One.

The park has always got a lot of stick for its clientelle, but I didn't see anything wrong when I went in 2008 (and it was definitely better in 2008 than the people in Thorpe Park a couple of days ago!), and the park may have a shade problem, but that shouldn't be enough to prevent you from going.

I am actually already excited for it next year. Some new credits, a new park, and an INTAMIN! :) Yay for enthusiastic and positive people!:)

I've been keeping up with the fan forum that SFA has for three years now. The manager they got at the tail end of the Shapiro era (I think he came in during 2008, not sure) has done nothing but aim to improve the park and so far from the pictures, PTRs, and guest feedback on Facebook and Twitter they're doing an incredible job.

I just wish I had more time from college and work to actually get out there, plus having family trips up to NJ doesn't help things either. My lone day this fall where I had the opportunity to go they were closed for private events, which brings the spite total to 4 for me (weather x3, event). If I can't get them for Fright Fest it'll be an opening day trip, for sure.

I also really want to see what all the hype for this new Bonzai Pipeline slide complex is about, since their water park is actually pretty damn good looking for being a joint admission complex.

as others have said - it's not the best park, and I'd be unlikely to make a special trip back, but if I happened to be in the area I'd probably visit on the US live I think the staff were trying to create a good impression - although security were awful

another thing i didn't like about the park was the noisy game stall people

I didn't think apocalypse was that bad - green lantern and mantis are worse
batwing was ok
I did prefer flight of fear to jokers jinx
and superman could have been quite nice if not for those shin restraints

I had heard SFA was not a good park so never really had a desire to go, but on a family trip to DC in 2010 I decided to go and I was shocked. There really was nothing bad I can think of about it. Superman is great and underrated (just very uncomfortable shin restraints), Batwing is awesome, Wild One is great and one of my favorite woodies, Jokers Jinx is fun, and Mind Eraser wasn't bad at all. Roar I did not like to much though. Park atmosphere was nothing special but nothing bad. Really glad I went and even stopped back on through in 2011 on my way to Great Adventure and got in a few rides on superman, batwing, jokers jinx, and wild one all within a hour or so (park was empty both times I have been).

No idea how Apocalypse is but I'd definitely stop by if I'm ever going that way and have a SF season pass again.
