What's new

Phantasialand | Taron | Intamin launched

Errrr, so they're enclosing the entire lift hill for Raik....

(no actual construction pics because the park is closed but from descriptions Tobi has gone and updated his CG model)

Do we know if they will enclose the whole thing, ot just try to make it look nicer beneath the track?

I'll be honest I asked myself the same thing shortly after I posted that. We're just going to have to wait and see. I'd prefer it to be enclosed though.

I think it will be enclosed. Klugheim doesn't really fit with the River Quest theming, hence why they've totally re themed the outside of the RQ lift facing Klugheim.
Phantasialand like to box in their areas, I see no reason why they would include the lift of a ride not part of the Mystery area to be at all visible.

Couple of photos of Raik, from looopings.nl:

First pictures we've seen of it in place (unless I'm mistaken?). Not that it really helps figure out what the layout is exactly, naturally

Phantasialand have posted some pictures of the bottom of River Quest's lift with its new Klugheim theming, along with the theming for Raik's spikes and cleaned up trough:

The park have also posted a number of pictures of the actual ride and area:

Can't wait to head to the park in October! This is potentially the best themed 'outdoor' coaster in the entire world, hands down.

Raik's lift is fully enclosed now, along with the cladding on River Quests lift

This is going to be quite intimidating as you walk up to the entrance now, with Mystery Castle, River Quest and now this looming over you!

Where River Quest enters the now Klugheimed lift tunnel

And inside the tunnel

Apparently there has had to be some modifications to the theme work around the ride because the envelope tester was only just squeezing through! You can see it in the pictures PL posted to FB yesterday, circled in red here:

I love how open the trains are and the the near misses are so fab.

I'm seriously impressed with Raik's enclosed lift hill, it looks amazing, here's the view from onboard RQ (Source)

Here's another pic (Source)of the trains which show off the excellent finishing, leg room might be an issue though.

Also, they currently have two different types of wheels on (bottom left and right of the pic)

My guess is that the yellow coloured wheel (that doesn't match the rest) will be of a softer rubber to allow them to test greater speed losses etc. I suspect that would be removed/replaced when the coaster is open. I'm open to other theories though!
