Yet another photo showing some very dodgy track work there.....

It's atrocious, the funny thing is portaventura keep uploading pictures that clearly show how wobbly it is! It's almost like they're saying 'hey look at this coaster we're building, we've completely bodged it and it's gonna be rough as tits! Hope you wanna ride it when it opens next summer' wtf
It's Intamin who messed this up though? I'm sure PortAventura didn't ask for track like that...

Well that if you're going to be precious Owen it's not even intamins fault it's the company installing the coaster...
The track it misshapen, that's definitely Intamins fault.

RCS is behind the construction of this and they have tons of experiences building roller coaster. They would know how to stack pieces of track to avoid bending, if they stacked them themselves.

Maybe it's a manufacturing fault or PA not knowing how to keep the stacks of track before RCS moved in...

One thing that makes me feel a little less worried about this track wobbling is the fact that they still have over a year to get it fixed. Will they? Being PA... I wouldn't rule anything out :--D

It could just be as easy as to adjust the height and balance of the footers before they top-pour them. I'm sure it will be adressed before the ride is opened.

Haaa, this was posted to Coaster Park Klub! XD

This might be Intamin's worst product yet, actually. Like, what were they even thinking? It's positively vulgar just to look at!

At first, I really thought it was just the photo. But being that NOTHING else is distorted.. just lol all around.

That is just going to be......... unrideable. The train will be travelling at around 90mph over that section of track. Saw is painful enough without any visible track bends.

The Ultimate could have a new rival here....Can't wait to see it testing

Well **** I totally forgot about this being a thing and I got kind of excited to see all the progress. So funny to see everyone's reactions and this thing just looks silly. Like wtf this is actually kind of amazing of how it's turning out.

I didn't realize this is going to have a separate entrance fee. That's bull ****

This might even be worse than Kingda Ka lol. At least there's plenty of other awesome Intamins coming this year.

Stealth is like this too. Has nobody notice how warped the launch is and how kinky the pull-up from the airtime hill is? Check it out, its like it's built out of planks of angled wood.

To quote a popular phrase - pics or it didn't happen.

I'm not saying you're wrong, but I feel like this would have been mentioned before and I've never heard of it.

Surely Stealth isn't as bad as this?

Just in case anyone had any doubts about the capability of this coaster to suck even more:

They didn't even get a transfer track section straight FFS!

What the actual ****?

Seriously, these parks check forums, there's no way somebody at PA won't have noticed this, surely it's a problem with storage by the construction team rather than a problem from the factory?

It's the track joint next to the steps on the top left I'm worried about...

How has this been done so badly? It's frustrating watching the construction. I hope PA do check these forums because I would be willing to come and fix the track myself - all I need is a couple of hours and a hammer.

As much as I think the rest of the trackwork looks shocking, I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt there and say that that's the transfer track not being aligned properly with the main track. I think we can't see the other end of it because it's covered with the sheet. That being said, they can't seem to be able to install anything correctly, so I don't know why I think this bit isn't equally as ****.

This whole thing is just laughably bad...

Over on TST, Alastair has compiled a list of a few launch coasters and their acceleration compared to this creation.

It's not very good.

  • Dodonpa - 26.55m/s²
  • Fluch von Novgorod - 19.82m/s²
  • Stealth - 18.82m/s²
  • Formula Rossa - 16.66m/s²
  • Kingda Ka - 16.35m/s²
  • Storm Runner - 16.0m/s²
  • Xcelerator - 15.9m/s²
  • Karacho - 15.61m/s²
  • Junker - 15.27m/s²
  • Atlantis Adventure - 13.89m/s²
  • Takabisha - 13.88m/s²
  • Yamaha Racing Coaster - 13.88m/s²
  • Superman Escape - 13.8m/s²
  • Top Thrill Dragster - 13.41m/s²
  • iSpeed - 12.61m/s²
  • Revenge of the Mummy - 11.92m/s²
  • Dragon Legend - 11.80m/s²
  • Blue Fire - 11.10m/s²
  • Lynet - 11.10m/s²
  • Rita - 10.92m/s²
  • Furius Baco - 10.71m/s²
  • Speed Monster - 10.70m/s²
  • Shock - 10.55m/s²
  • Kanonen - 10.4m/s²
  • PA Ferrari Land coaster - 10.00m/s²

I'd feel a bit wary of comparing those stats just yet. As far as I know, the actual acceleration could potentially be faster, but the current stats are more just estimates? Taking Stealth as an example, in original marketing in 05, they were saying 0-80mph in 2.5s, but it's actually more like 1.9s. So things could change.

Not defending it as I can't see any changes bringing it significantly closer to similar rides, but something which should be kept in mind.
