What's new

PortAventura | Ferrari Land | New Area

I still can't get over how amazingly ostentatious it is! It's PERFECTLY themed to Ferrari. I love it! <3

Yeah Ben was just being a bit of a bitch, nothing to see here.

Agree that it seems awkwardly low.

It's so disgusting. I still think the top of the Tophat is really rounded and doesn't have a 'point' to it. It's just a stupid addition.

After seeing it in person yesterday, it's actually not as bad as I thought it would be! It looks pretty good from around the park and Salou tbh.

Just in case you couldn't see the shield from where you are standing...

I arrived in Salou yesterday and I am really disappointed at just how much Ferrari Land is going to ruin the ambience of PortAventura, the flow of different themed sectors of the park is being ruined by an unsightly coaster with a hideously large Ferrari logo on it which can be seen from plenty of places.

The view is ruined if you're in Salou and it's especially bad when stood on the ramp up towards the Rapids if you're walking from Furius Baco for example, it towers above a lovely themed area, so damn frustrating what they've done.

Just gonna put this out there: It's a theme park, not actually a seaside mediterannean UNESCO world heritage site. Yes, it's ugly, but this project needs to drum up interest and engagement from potential customers, and they've decided the best way to do that is with a huge eyesore.

It truly isn't the end of the world.

No it isn't, but it is affecting what some people find enjoyable about PA and that's a valid thing to bring up imo.

Exactly, I've been accused of being over defensive about PortAv in the past and in some cases that may be true, but this is something I simply don't like the idea of and won't defend now I've seen it up close. It looks hideous from everywhere in the park that it can be seen, it goes against everything that has made PortAv great because it's not just about the rides, the themes across the park have mostly been carried out fantastically especially the way each sector flows into the other making transition from area to area very smooth.

I'm sure it'll be a good ride, it's just a shame it belongs to the mid 2000's fad of producing short and sweet launch coasters.

Surely it only sticks out as much as Hurakan Condor does? You can see that from basically anywhere in the park?

I'm sure once everyone gets used to it will be fine and won't stick out as much.

With a great big Ferrari logo on the side...

People moaned when Shambhala was built, moaning that it takes away all views of Dragon Khan - it's inevitable that coaster enthusiasts will complain that something is endangering their much-loved visual attributes and complain when nothing is built.

Pretty much! Isn't that the point of being an enthusiast?
