Powered Coaster Questions

Hello,
I am hoping someone here has the answers I’m looking for regarding powered “coasters”. I would like to know if two dc motor powered carts can operate on the same track with one control panel? My hope is that they can be placed opposite each other and travel at the same time and speed in an eternal chase scenario. Worst case is I’m hoping they can still share the same track but need separate controls? Im attaching pics of the carts and the track for reference. Thanks in advance.

Multiple DC motors will work independently from each other even though they are being powered by the same controller. The problem with this setup however is that DC motors will need a lot of maintenance to keep them all performing the same otherwise you end up with them running at wildly different speeds even though they are being fed the same power.

A single DC motor powering the whole train would be your best bet.

If you are set on multiple motors however, I recommend AC induction motors running from a single variable frequency drive. Assuming the motors are used well within their ratings, they will perform exactly the same.
