Rage or oblivion?

Its got to be Oblivion, Rage is just an average coaster.

If you look deeper than just the ride itself, Rage is better. It had the ability to take a reasonable seaside park and put it on the map, it's an iconic ride for Adventure Island.

Oblivion, whilst being a world's first, everyone already knew what Alton Towers was so it wasn't quite as ground-breaking...

But yeah, they're incomparable really. Of course Oblivion is better, it cost several million pounds more.

How does that mean Rage is better?

That has nothing to do with the ride experience itself. It would have happened with any sort of bigger investment.

If you're a fish in a restaurant, steak is a better meal. If you're a cow, it's fish every time.

It's all about perspective, and as the topic is vague and didn't say "which is the better to ride", people can look at it from all perspectives

I disagree with AIG mind, I think Oblivion did as much for Alton as Rage did for Southend. It was Oblivion which cemented Alton's position, it was really the turning point for the park which moved it into "world class" territory. It's different scales (Rage put AI on the UK map, Oblivion put AT on the World map), but both are equally as important to the relative positions they placed their parks into IMO!

I like them both but for different reasons although Oblivion's my favourite.

Only been on Oblivion but the whole concept of the drop into the black hole gets the adrenaline going, which rage wouldn't do (I assume).

Rage is a fun and 'quirkey' ride,although a tad on the rough side.

But compared to Oblivion,no contest.

Oblivion is 3 times as tall, twice as forceful, (if anyone thinks Rage is forceful then they are a pussy) and Oblivion makes me want to re-ride over and over.
