What's new

Rome, Italy | Cinecitta world | movie themed park

Construction of the Intamin multilooper has gone vertical, first supports up, the square kind ala Ispeed for the fans... :-/ , oh well, at least the track colour looks cool..

Looking sweet. Those inlines.<3

^ The loop has always had em on all Monte Makaya/Colossus clones - this is more a less a version of Colossus.

Layout for the SuperSplash has been posted to CWFans.

Overview of the park.

The aerial view of the whole park makes it look tiny. Quite interesting to be able to compare the size of the warehouses which house the Intamin drop coaster with the Collosus clone.

I'm just in love with the look of this drop tower!

I wonder how the station for the 10-looper will turn out.

I really like the profile of this ride.

I, however, am having trouble to like the look of these square supports.

Can't wait for 2014!

Last month there was some sort of conference in Paris where they did a little presentation. A video surfaced on youtube of it which includes English subtitles. Apparently they are still aiming for a mid-2014 opening.

I get the feeling this park will be way too small. Let's just hope the attractions are actually decent. Hopefully we'll get more information on opening dates etc soon.

That drop tower looks absolutely fantastic! Any idea of the height?
It's 60 meters.

Apparently there should be a big amount of flat rides (although I haven't seen any yet). There will be 16 kiddie rides indoor, the three big thrill rides and 19 family attractions. It's going to be interesting to see what they will set up in the coming months.

There is also a second expansion of the theme park planned, if the first one is successful.

^The second expansion, from what I can gather from the official website, is like a Downtown Disney and then a second gate. I do hope I'm wrong and they do plan on expanding the first park before doing things like that.

So rumours are starting to surface that the park could be opening late May (which seems ridiculous when you see the following images). Also, surely its time they upload a new website which is more about the individual attractions, opening times, prices etc?

Anyway here's a bunch of construction pics...

Palm trees planted, does sort of indicate they are now starting to focus on things other than rides/theming

Photos like this are why I don't believe in the May opening. This is meant to be a self service fast food place
