Really unfortunate TT2 didn't go as planned, because no doubt KK would've gotten the same treatment eventually. To lose the entire ride is a huge loss not only to Great Adventure but the coaster community as a whole.
Surely they wouldn’t close it next week?
I can only imagine that Kingda Ka is an iconic enough ride that if the park closed it next week without warning, there might be significant backlash. We all remember what happened with the Wild Mouse at Blackpool… I’d hope Six Flags might have learned from Blackpool’s PR mistakes in this sense.
rightThe merger will go down as yielding some of the craziest and most dramatic decisions in theme park history since 2000's-era Six Flags.

NoWith Zamperla's debacle and CF, not SF running the show now; would they give in to Intamin?
Maybe I'm crazy, but wouldn't relocating and getting new trains for GL cost almost as much as a new coaster? Maybe not a new, full-sized B&M, but a coaster from elsewhere, or a compact B&M dive/invert. And these floorless conversions haven't yielded much for the parks that get them, nor are they particularly well-liked at any park that has one. (Rougarou has mixed reception at best, while Patriot and Firebird are looked down on).Green Lantern was indeed rough riding it last year. The idea of doing a floorless conversion and maybe relocating it to a more deserving park is a good idea in my books.
Rougarou has mixed reception at best
Yeah, will be interesting to see what happens with the tilt after the novelty wears off...... like Rougarou does at CP, where it gets lost in the shadows.
