All drugs should be decriminalised full stop.
That's definitely wrong, no two ways about it. You say it's "none of our business", but SOMETIMES people really do have to step in to save certain people from themselves.
I'm not against all drugs - cannabis is fine, so is salvia, and there are a few others. Drugs like heroin and cocaine ruin lives though, and they HAVE to be controlled to stop more people destroying themselves. Not everything should be controlled, the treatment of cannabis by the media and government is a joke, but the more dangerous ones need to be controlled.
Alot of it isn't anyone else's business, but when normal, good, hard-working people start throwing their lives away by getting addicted to hard drugs, it definitely does become our ****ing business. If you've ever seen a friend destroy themselves on heroin or crystal meth then you'd know what I mean, if not then you're probably more inclined to believe nonsense such as "it's no-one's business but theirs". Sorry, but I'm not going to let people ruin themselves because of the notion of freedom, there ARE limits to that freedom. There has to be - simply because you want to do something doesn't mean you should be allowed to be, regardless of whether or not it harms others.
As for mephedrone, I'm sick of seeing my friends turn into zombies. Unlike drugs like cannabis and alcohol it does seem to have long-term effects. Also, it's only just sprung onto the scene and it's already killed quite a few people, which does add to the problem. I'd like to see in-depth research into it before it's banned though, I want to know what is media hype and what isn't. And of those who died I'd like to know the exact circumstances, eg. how much did they take, did they take anything else such as alcohol, and so on. Don't want to jump the gun but the long-term effects I'm seeing tend to point towards it needing to be controlled.
Back onto the main subject - salvia is a laugh, it does not need to be illegal at all. Someone needs to put an age limit on it though, as someone said earlier there's something wrong about little kids legally being allowed to take this.
