Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia will add a kiddie coaster in summer 2010 called Mr. Six’s DanceCoaster, themed to the frenetically dancing senior citizen who serves as a spokes-character for the amusement park chain.

Magic Mountain’s 17th coaster moves the California amusement park into a tie with Ohio’s Cedar Point for the coveted title of “roller coaster capital of the world,” according to Roller Coaster Database.

Scheduled to open on Memorial Day weekend, the 679-foot-long steel coaster will be located in the northwest corner of Magic Mountain between the looping Déjà Vu coaster and the Johnny Rockets Shakes and Fries food stand.

At 28 feet tall and with a top speed of 21 mph, the family coaster certainly won’t set any records or wow hard-core enthusiasts. The black, white and red coaster trains will be themed to look like a pair of dancing shoes.

Magic Mountain for this addition will recycle the Vekoma junior coaster, which was known as Road Runner Express at the now-shuttered Six Flags New Orleans before being relocated to Magic Mountain, according to Ultimate Roller Coaster.

The layout of Magic Mountain’s Mr. Six coaster will be identical to Disneyland’s Gadget Go-Coaster, which opened in Toontown in 1993, according to Roller Coaster Database.

This will be the second coaster themed to the Mr. Six character, according to Screamscape. Six Flags New England opened Mr. Six’s Pandemonium in 2005 before dropping “Mr. Six” from the name of the spinning coaster two years later.

MUST RIDE!!!!!!!!!!

If Six Flags is once more trying to take a record from Cedar Fair AGAIN, this isn't the greatest way. At least when they took the speed and height record it was exciting y'know? But seeing as it's a kiddie coaster I have a feeling there will be a lot of whores running around......

So wait.

They built a Mr. Six's Pandemonium spinner coasters at SFNE, renamed it to Pandemonium when they ditched Mr. Six, and now they're building another Mr. Six themed coaster?

So within 2-3 years this coaster will just be named Dance coaster.

I'd say this is a good way to tie with CP, considering it would have the exact same layout as Woodstock's Express, CP's own junior Vekoma coaster.

I'm not gonna lie Mr. Six is a beast at dancing though. :p

The beginning is in a foreign language but this one had the best audio and visual quality.

Well.. at least they are moving in the right direction and not just plopping down Scream! in the middle of a parking lot.

Now if only they could get a flat ride or 20.

Woah, a park actually found a concept that matches standard 'shoe' themed cars that come with Vekoma junior coasters.

^Hahaha. I was thinking the exact same thing. LAMENESS!

I did not know until reading about this coaster yesterday that it is not even new, its one of the coasters taken out of Six Flags New Orleans,

Well its good to see another of their coasters saved!

Are all the coasters that are left still erected at New Orleans?

UC, you are indeed correct, Sasquatch at Great Escape was the former towers at SFNO.

A little off-topic, but I'm really hoping Mega Zeph can be saved...somehow. I've always wanted to go on it, it looks incredible.

Back on topic, how much theming is going to be on this new kiddie? From the pic they've released so far looks like there isn't going to be much apart from a new colour scheme and rethemed 'shoes'.

Cheers for that UC I know its off topic but was a good read. I was looking up stuff on that park yesterday it really did get in a state with the flood I was actually shocked by it.

This coaster was one of the ones that was under water so I wonder how much work was needed to get it working again, probably just new electrics and motors.

Yeah that park was pretty tore up from the storm.. just imagine that happening to a whole major metropolitan area..

^Yep having been there before that happened I would hate to think what its like now tbh. Was a very strange city very mixed and not like anywhere I had ever been before. We went right the park and did not go in as I was not that into coasters back then.

^ Aw I was about to say it.

In regards to theming, at least it's over grass and there are some trees in sight!
