SFOG to get Justice League dark shooter for 2017

...To make way for a (thrilling?) new attraction next year.
When I saw this tweet I immediately thought the Cyclone was closing to be converted, but it's not quite 30 years old.

It could be the Great American Scream Machine which is 40+ years old.
It sounds like something big though as they are closing the ride really early.

Edited to update thread title. - ECG

Maybe one of the water rides as they all seem to be 30+ years old?

Re: SFOG to close a 30+ year old attraction on Thursday...

A Justice League would fit in the Monster Mansion spot.

Not sure how long the VR conversions take but they have an old Schwarzkopf that could be getting the dreaded treatment?

I don't think so. It's still a pretty popular attraction with the families and usually has a decent wait time.

They are already doing it with Dare Devil Dive. (Which is the absolute worst thing ever btw because the ride was already a slow loading nightmare.) Plus why would you close a ride so early for just VR treatment?

Also, if Mindbender got removed for any reason, I'd probably burn down the corporate office of Six Flags. That's such a great coaster and if they mess with it I swear they'll have a riot on their hands.

Re: SFOG to close a 30+ year old attraction on Thursday...

There are only 3 coasters that can be closed in this scenario: Great American Scream Machine, Dahlongname Mine Train, and Mind Bender. I don't think any are going to close. I think it'll be another ride, like the Log Flume or Monster Mansion. My guess is JL in the Monster Mansion space.

Re: SFOG to close a 30+ year old attraction on Thursday...

Although I hate to see it go for JLBfM, Monster Mansion opened in 1981 as Monster Plantation and enough time has passed since the refurb in 2009 for the park to decide it's time to move on. Considering it originally opened in 1967 as the Tales of the Okefenokee, a boat ride inspired by the Uncle Remus stories in Disney's film Song of the South, it would be a shame if that is what's happening since it has such history in the park and like The Hedgehog said - it's still a very popular attraction.

Re: SFOG to close a 30+ year old attraction on Thursday...

Dahlonega Mine Train and Splash Water Falls are right next to each other, and have been operating for 30 years. If they remove both, we could be seeing an expensive expansion (Like, the $15 Million level of X-Flight)

Re: SFOG to close a 30+ year old attraction on Thursday...

I hope the monster mansion ride doesn't close, that was a really cool, unique ride amongst a bunch of plonked thrill rides.

S&S 4D coming to the park seems like the most likely, with Justice League being the 2nd most likely IMO. I don't see GASM getting the RMC treatment, too much of a classic. Though SFMM did RMC Colossus which was an iconic ride so I guess you never know.

Re: SFOG to close a 30+ year old attraction on Thursday...

That and another tweet allude to DC(Riddle me This, Wonder Woman ride). I'm almost confident now that it'll be JLBFM

Ok, so it probably won't be Monster Mansion, and this clue also hints that it might be 'The Bump'er Cars.

Man, this is twice you've bashed the park in the last 2 threads I've been in. We get it, you don't like SFOG. But it's a decent park with **** management. It it what it is, and you can keep your opinions to yourself.

I'm not so sure it's management's fault more than the customer base. The last time I went at Halloween, packs of hood rats had fights breaking out all over the park with no shortage of willing participants to aggravate the situation further. Cops were chasing people, tackling people, just pure madness. There's a reason I moved back to VA from Atlanta.
