No great surprises there? (apart from the sterling job the Larson salesman seems to have done)

Looks like another 2015.

They weren't even creative with 3 of the Larson Loops. At least they caught up with us and didn't call them coasters.

For Six Flags, decent year. Joker looks amazing of course. Justice League is one of the best non Disney dark rides in years so good additions. Glad Revolution is getting new trains cause I think it'll make it a great Schwarkopf again. The best news IMO was Superman: The Ride is returning! Will be able to ride it in its former glorious state. The rest look fine, expected but fine.

At a skim, I count... one... - one entirely new coaster? And not a very big one, at that?

Not a very good announcement for coaster enthusiasts, although it's understandable given the unsuccessful craze of the nineties. And RMC conversions are always welcome.

Also, I notice there weren't any SkyScreamers this year. I guess that means no more SkyScreamers?

Normal day, nothing really special besides Joker. I'll be interested to see exactly what they do to Revolution though.

Unfortunately, in one of the teasers they call it a looping coaster or something along the lines of that - it's not in the name, but they're still branding them as coasters.

Anyway, for coasters it's not great, but for flat rides it's a good line up. Two parks got thrill ride packages and La Ronde got two flat rides and La Vampire backwards (presumably that means Goliath at SFFT could also get the backwards train??). Joker looks good, but I don't like colourful track on natural colour wood. Everything else looks fine, does anyone know what sort of ride Cawoman's Whip (SFOT) and Gravitor (LR) are?

We're all so pessimistic aren't we? ;)

I would say, it's not a bad year for SF -and I'd even go as far as saying it's actually slightly better than last year. Ok, so there's only RMC conversion, and 2 JLBFMs, 4 superloops, a waterplay, a new slide complex plus a 4D free-fly just like last year. But what I'm really impressed with this year, is the way they've bundled flat ride additions together, in SFOG, SFFT, La Ronde, and most significantly, SFFT. Then, to further compensate for only 1 RMC, 2 major ride rennovations.
With those additions, it's really quite hard to be disappointed if you're a frequent park visitor.

OK, maybe SFA, great Escape, La Ronde and SFstl, but then again, they've always been neglected, and might well be in line for something next year...Plus La Ronde and SFstl's addition are much better than they have been in previous years.

SFOT - Great set of additions, especially that Zamperla frisbee. Nice to see the park continuing to build up a comprehensive range of attractions. Every park visitor will be happy with this.

SFMM - Exactly what the park needed. After Twisted Colossus last year, they're effectively getting a new coaster for everyone to ride and enjoy. Quality!

SFFT - Good set of additions, to really rejuvinate the boardwalk area of the park.

SFNE - After WC last year, with the Bizarro/Superman rennovation, the 1-2 coaster punch should be incredible. You'd be happy with just the rennovation, but to chuck a Superloop in is even better!

SFM, SFGam - Dark rides are really key to a park's well rounded success, and both have been treated recently, so to get one of these is fantastic.

SFOG - Not great from a thrill perspective, but fantastic for kids and families. I'd expect something coaster-related next year?

SFGADV - A bit disappointed with the layout, but hey, another solid addition to their line up, adding variety. Hopefully we'll see more, and better, 4D freeflys next year.

SFDK - Incredible! But then again, we were expecting that...

As a coaster enthusiast, it's not amazing, but it's good consolidation of their line-ups. Go back to 2013/2014 additions, and you'll appreciate it.

Yeah, they've done a good job with all the new flat rides (and not just the Larson Loopers). Yeah it does seem a little disappointing with only one stand out coaster coming, but I like what they've been doing with the non coaster stuff. New Revolution looks like it could be good to.

As for Superman (which is the theme everyone seems to prefer), it just makes the whole Bizarro conversion seem pointless and silly. But hopefully they'll get rid of the on ride speakers and possibly new trains with the old T-bars.

Yes, the flat ride packages and kid ride packages are very good. Much better than just getting a super loop by itself, or just getting one kid ride.

From what I read about the one in Texas any more to they layout would require them to change the name to The Vomiter ;)

What has SFOT got against apostrophes?!?

'Catwoman Whip' 'Riddler Revenge' URGH

Apart from Joker, Justice League and 'Total Mayhem' (awful name) it's just another round of carnival flats then. It's nice they always want every park to get something but they do just chuck **** in for the sake of it.

I asked that question at the opening of Batman and was told they have no plans for expanding the layout of their Free Fly coasters. At 8:15 in the video:

Joker looks fantastic. The first element after the drop looks like a blast and I like the unique colorway. Other than that nothing from the announcement has me too excited

That's a good point actually - I know they presented some other layouts at IAAPA, but given the intensity of the 'smaller' version, it's not probably wise not to build them. Maybe S&S and RMC may combine in the future to make a controlled spinning 4D, like X2, just using RMC's smoother, and possibly more viable track system? (The track would obviously have to be modified, but still..)

Anyway, just thought about this earlier today...does anyone remember the Restore Revolution campaign, which has been trying to get blood out of a stone for quite a while now? Well, seems like all their campaigning finally paid off....getting revolution restored for it's 40th Anniversary!

(I think it must have been the song...)

Ah yes, restore the revolution song. Looks like they got what they wanted.

Now let's make a song for more RMCs!

With the exception of The Joker, there's not much in next years line up that gets me wet. In fact, is it 2015 all over again?

Still, it's steady investment. I feel that SF must make a bold statement in their 2017 line-up and do something unique, big and sexy. Otherwise the only difference between the parks will be their names.
