What's new

Small News From The Theme Park Industry

This has been a thing for a few weeks now, but all of Plopsaland De Panne will be open year-round during weekends, Wednesdays, and holidays. All rides will be operating, weather and temperature permitting (Ride to Happiness for example will be running as long as it's no less than 5 degrees Celsius outside). The indoor areas are currently closed due to covid restrictions but are set to re-open by next weekend, and will be open 365 days a year going forward bar the occasional private event.

We’ve taken advantage of this a couple of times in the last month or two… I honestly had no idea it was a ‘new’ thing, or I’d have said something… :/

However, I’d be very surprised to see it continue forever, there were more staff on park than guests on Wednesday!!! Until after 3pm when all the obviously local pass holders / enthusiasts started turning up after school / work.

hmm I want to go tomorrow but I doubt to go, since 6 degrees has been reported for tomorrow

I already have the cred, why on earth would I ride it again?! Let alone backwards!

I noticed last night that the coaster at Landmark Forest Park in Aberdeen is apparently no more, according to RCDB.

I have to admit, I breathed a selfish sigh of relief; that's another line off the spreadsheet!!

Oof, I just saw the spinning mouse has left M&D's too, leaving Scotland with a grand total of 4 creds; 2 wacky worms, 1 go gator, and the Mine Train at M&D's.

Not sure if this has been posted before but RMC no longer uses Vekoma as their European partner, RP rides has now taken their place.

That's actually quite fascinating. Dropping a world leading manufacturer with decades of experience (not just in coaster design, but also construction) and plumping for a relatively small (one person only? can't really tell) outfit. More power to them, that's an awesome opportunity!

A new Wiegand CoasterKart has popped up in Jungle Adventure Park near Chiang Mai in Thailand
The New CoasterKart in Thailand will be open from February 5th

The coaster also looks to have a well themed station:
