More of this please 🙌🏻

That was posted in the new rides in small parks thread, where you're more than welcome to continue the discussion. ;)

Such a shame, I wonder if the coaster will be relocated or scrapped

Glad they're not putting a ride in that space, but I was kinda hoping they'd redevelop all the pathways in that area for better flow after exiting the dome.

Right, I'm surprised they're not scrapping Depth Charge while they're at it to help open up the front of the park, as the area after the dome currently feels fairly cramped.

Not sure if this has been posted yet, but Attraction Source also just unearthed CG architectural renders of an updated design for Thorpe's proposed permanent Lakeside Hotel:

Merlin have filed a UK trademark for the phrase ‘Adventures Made Real’ in a font which resembles that of Minecraft which gives futher weight to the rumours that the new land/coaster at Chessington will be Minecraft themed.

Plans to develop the beach at Thorpe Park have been submitted, it's a stage with seating and a selection of food kiosks.

Awesome! I've hoped that they would do this for years. A dedicated stage for the standard special events would be excellent, but hosting gigs could be a HUGE draw for the park given it's location.

Though I agree, I wish they could have at least widened the path towards storm surge as part of this. It's just not fit for purpose as the main path into the park from the dome.

^ They probably spent ungodly amounts (at least relative to their revenue) of money on developing the coaster type hence why they're constantly trying to come up with new gimmicks and ways to sell it to parks. But hey, at least the cruise ships are buying em. And Qiddiya.

The odd thing is that they've seemingly discontinued every other product in favor of one type of attraction that never really took off.

I gotta admit that Desmo Race in Mirabilandia was quite fun, though it's still a product that's plagued by both poor capacity (I guess the full train models could tackle that somewhat) and poor reliability, so I have no idea what their market really is outside of being 'uncoastery' enough that it can easily be put on cruise ships.

Didn't they make a big deal out of the logistics possibilities of the underlying system? Maybe that side of the business is going gangbusters, so they've sacked everything else off and are really leaning into this?

Fun Spot America confirmed in a staff memo that they've taken on five of the seven rides (drop tower and the coaster excluded). Not sure what's going where, but Kissimmee's Yo-Yo has been recently removed and the site actively being torn up. Teacups and the Tower Plane rides are sitting in the Orlando overflow lot for all the world to see.
Here's the breakdown according to today's press release:

• The MACH FUN tower goes to Fun Spot Orlando, as do the Tea Cups, replacing the park’s existing version.

• Kissimmee gets the Swing Around kiddie wave swinger in addition to the Up and Overboard pendulum ride.

• And the golf-themed Hook & Slice spinner will be at Fun Spot America Atlanta.
